10/12/13 - Lake Geneva, cloudy, 60 degrees, S winds at 15 mph, water temp 67 degrees.  Caught 10 smallmouth bass, 5 were legal and one largemouth.  Compared to yesterday, today was slow.  Some of the best spots from the previous day were unfishable due to the strong winds.  Had to stay out for 5 hours to catch the 10 smallmouth.  All fish were caught on fat head minnows.

10/11/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 65 degrees, light winds out of the SW, water temp 67 degrees.  Caught 15 smallmouth bass, 2 were over 18 inches and a 33 inch northern pike.  The fish were caught on lindy rigged fat head minnows in 22-28 ft of water.  The best location was by Yerkes Observatory.

10/9/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, light winds out of the SW, water temp 68 degrees.  Caught 2 largemouth bass and one crappie.  I fished shallow, I fished deep and marked a whole bunch of fish but couldn't get them to bite.  The lake was covered in a huge algae bloom.

10/07/13- Lake Geneva,sunny,55 degrees, NW wind at 15 mph. Water temp 66 degrees.  Caught 8 Smallmouth and 2 largemouth (small).  Today the cold weather was a bit brutal.  Fishing was rater slow.  All fish were caught on extra large fathead minnows on lindy rigging.  We caught a fish here and there.  Best depth was 21-25 feet of water.  

9/28/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 65 degrees,  S wind at 15 mph.  Water temp 66 degrees.  Caught 13 smallmouth, 5 largemouth and bluegills.  Today the best bait was fat head minnows fished on a lindy rig.  We were catching the fish from 18-22 ft of water.  The best spot was by Yerkes Observatory.

9/27/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 63 degrees, SW winds at 5 mph.  Water temp 68 degrees.  Caught 15 smallmouth and 3 largemouth.  The best bite was nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig, the best depth was 20-25 ft of water.  Fished the whole west side of the lake.

9/26/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 65 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 68 degrees.  Caught 2 largemouth bass and 1 northern pike. Fishing was tough, I had a new customer who just wanted to learn the lake, but we still tried to catch fish but it was very limited success.

9/23/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 65 degrees, SE winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 68 degrees.  Caught 10 smallmouth and 3 largemouth.  The best depth was 21 ft of water.  Fished by the Military Academy.  Fishing was rather slow, we went out mid-day which may have been part of the problem.

9/22/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, SW winds at 5 mph.  Air temp 56, water temp 69 degrees.  Caught 17 smallmouth bass and a 30 inch pike.  Fishing was a little tough today.  We only caught fish in one area, by Yerkes Observatory.  The best depth was 21-25 ft of water.  The presentation was nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.

9/21/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, NW winds at 10 mph. Air temp 55 and water temp 69 degrees.  Caught 20 largemouth bass and 1 northern pike.  Fishing was kind of slow due to the tremendous cold from that went through in the past few days.  I was lucky to find an active school of fish.  All fish were caught on a split shot rig with a fat head minnow.  The best locations were main lake points.

9/14/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, light winds, air temp 60 degrees, water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 24 largemouth bass and 4 northern pike.  The overall size of the fish this week, were smaller than we've been seeing, only one legal fish.  We used nightcrawlers, leeches and fat head minnows with similar success for all.

9/13/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, north winds at 12 mph.  Air temp, 65 degrees, water temp, 75 degrees.  Caught 30 smallmouth bass and 6 largemouth bass.  The cold front did not effect the deep water bite.  The fish were caught in 21-24 ft of water.  The best approach was a lindy rigged nightcrawler.

9/7/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, W winds at 15 mph.  Air temp 74, water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 26 smallmouth bass and 7 largemouth.  The best depth was 21-25 ft of water.  Caught the fish lindy rigging nightcrawlers and medium suckers.  The best location was by the Military Academy and in Fontana.

9/6/13 - Delavan Lake, cloudy, SW winds at 10 mph.  Air temp 73, water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 19 largemouth bass and a few bluegills.  Fish still remain on the main lake points.  The best depth was 10-15 ft of water.  Look for the fish by Willow Point and by the Yacht Club.

9/4/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, light winds out of the SW, air temp 70 degrees, water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 25 smallmouth bass.  The best depth was 21-23 ft of water.  Fished in Fontana with a split shot rigged nightcrawler.

9/1/13 - Lake Geneva, foggy, cloudy, 80 degrees, water temp 78 degrees, light winds out of the SW.  Caught 15 smallmouth and 2 largemouth.  The best location was by the Yacht Club in 21-25 ft of water.  The best bite was lindy rigged suckers or nightcrawlers fished on bottom.

8/31/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 85 degrees, water temp 77 degrees, E wind at 10 mph.  Caught 10 smallmouth bass, 2 largemouth.  The biggest bass was a 22 inch smallmouth.  All fish were caught on nightcrawlers or small yellow perch caught in the lake.  The best location was by Yerkes Observatory and the old Military Academy.

8/30/13 - Lake Geneva, cloudy, 89 degrees, water temp 76 degrees, winds SW at 15 mph.  Caught 20 smallmouth, 3 largemouth and a bunch of pan fish.  All fish were caught in Fontana Beach.  The best depth as 21-25 ft of water.  The best presentation was a lindy rigged nightcrawler fished right on bottom.

8/27/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 90 degrees, water temp 77 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph.  Caught 20 largemouth bass and a bunch of pan fish.  All fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers or a Thill slip bobber fished with a medium sucker.  The fish were in tight schools in 8-10 ft of water.  The best location was just west of Del Mar.

8/24/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 78 degrees, water temp 76 degrees, winds E at 5 mph.  Caught 8 smallmouth and 3 largemouth.  Out of all the bass we caught only 2 were legal.  Fishing was very tough, with the forecasted warmer weather, fishing should improve on the deep bite.  Today most of the fish were caught in 25 ft of water near Black Point.

8/23/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 80 degrees, water temp 76 degrees, winds E at 5 mph.  Caught 7 smallmouth and 3 largemouth.  Again, fished numerous spots with limited success. Most of the action came on lindy rigged yellow perch.  The best location was by Gage Marine.

8/22/13 - P.M. Lake Geneva, sunny, 85 degrees, water temp 76 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph.  Caught 8 smallmouth, the biggest was 19 inches and 4 largemouth.  With the cooler weather lately, the bite has been inconsistent.  All the fish we caught were in 21-25 ft of water.  The best locations was by Fontana and Black Point.

8/22/13 - A.M. Delavan Lake, cloudy and rainy, 70 degrees, water temp 75 degrees, SW winds at 5 mph.  Caught 16 largemouth, 2 were legal and a bunch of bluegills.  Unlike Lake Geneva, the fish are biting very well.  The fish were in 10-20 ft of water on the weed points.  The best location was west of Willow Point and by the Oriental Boat house.

8/21/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 90 degrees, SW winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Fished all day for 5 largemouth bass and 3 smallmouth.  2 of the largemouth were over 5 lbs, which was the only saving grace.  Fished throughout the whole lake in 15-25 ft of water.  The fish have been off for a few days now.

8/20/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 80 degrees, SW winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 6 smallmouth bass, 3 were legal, plus caught 3 largemouth bass.  Fishing has slowed a bit.  I fished about 8 or 9 spots throughout the lake.  The fish I caught were in 21-25 ft of water.  I fished from Conference Point to Black Point to Fontana.

8/18/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 70 degrees, water temp 75 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph.  Caught 6 smallmouth bass, 4 largemouth bass and a bunch of rock bass. The best depth was 15-20 ft of water.  Fished by Yerkes Observatory.

8/17/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 70 degrees, water temp 75 degrees, winds light out of the west.  Started the trip at 4 a.m. trying to get on the walleyes.  Fished 5 hours without catching any.  We did end up catching 4 largemouth, 2 northerns and a handful of panfish.  

8/16/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 78 degrees, water temp 74 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Fished all day.  Boated over 50 smallmouth bass with an occasional largemouth.  The best location was in Fontana.  We went through about 10 dozen nightcrawlers.

8/15/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 65 degrees, water temp 73 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph.  Caught 15 smallmouth and 2 largemouth.  The fish were really active today, the fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers in 21-23 ft of water.  Most fish were caught in Fontana.

8/12/13 - p.m. Lake Geneva, sunny, 75 degrees, N winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 10 smallmouth and 2 largemouth.  The best depth was 18 ft of water.  All the fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.

8/12/13 - a.m. Delavan Lake, 72 degrees, cloudy, winds SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 13 largemouth bass, 3 were over 5 lbs.  With the cooler weather, the fish were tight to the shore in 5-6 ft of water.  

8/10/13 - Lake Geneva, 80 degrees, light winds, water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 18 smallmouth and 3 largemouth and a whole bunch of panfish for a whole day trip.  Most of the action came on split shot rigged nightcrawlers in 24-28 ft of water.  We did catch one monster 22 inch smallmouth on a lindy rigged perch near Yerkes Observatory.

8/9/13 - P.M. - Delavan Lake, 80 degrees, winds W at 15 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 5 largemouth and a handful of pan fish.  I had a two hour trip on a pontoon without a trolling motor or any electronics.  The fish were caught on the outside of the weed edge on the west end of the lake.

8/9/13 - A.M. - Lake Geneva, 70 degrees, winds out of the SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 11 smallmouth, 1 legal.  The best depth was 28 ft of water.  The fish were caught by Yerkes Observatory.  I did clean about 15 pan fish, all were bluegills and pumpkin seeds.

8/8/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, winds out of the east at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 1 walleye, 1 northern pike and  25 largemouth and a few bluegills.  The best approach was a split shot rigged nightcrawler and slip bobber medium suckers in 8-12 ft of water.  The fish were in a tight schools so once you found the fish, you caught a bunch.

8/7/13 - Lake Geneva, 70 degrees and sunny, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 30 smallmouth bass all day and 2 largemouth and many pan fish and rock bass.  The best approach was a split shot and a nightcrawler fished in 25-28 ft of water.  The best location was by Yerkes Observatory and Black Point.

8/6/13 - Delavan Lake, hazy sunshine, 78 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 15 largemouth, 6 were over 5 lbs.  The best approach was medium suckers fished under a Thill Big Fish slip bobber in 10-12 ft of water.  The fish were in isolated spots, we fished many areas to catch our fish but most were in one small area near the Oriental boat house.

8/5/13 - Lake Geneva, cloudy, 74 degrees, SW winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 74 degrees.  Caught between 22 and 30 smallmouth bass.  The best approach was nightcrawlers fished on a lindy rig or lindy rigging small yellow perch.  The best locations were main lake points, especially Black Point.

8/1/13 - Delavan Lake, 72 degrees, sunny, W winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 19 largemouth and 1 smallmouth.  The average size of the fish today was 17 inches, which is substantially higher than recent trips out.  The bigger fish were caught on slip bobbered medium suckers in 13-15 ft of water.

7/31/13 - Lake Geneva, 65 degrees, heavy fog and mist.  Light wind out of the SW.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 15 smallmouth and 4 largemouth.  3 of the largemouth were over 16 inches and 5 of the smallies were legal.  Fished by Yerkes Observatory and in Fontana.  The best depth was 22 to 24 ft of water.  With the crummy weather, boat traffic was light.

7/30/13 - Lake Geneva, 65 degrees, winds N at 10 mph.  Water temp 73 degrees. Had a full day trip.  Caught over 20 smallmouth bass with a couple in the 19 inch range.  The fish are located anywhere between 21 and 33 ft of water.  The biggest fish were in the deeper water.  Lindy rigging nightcrawlers on 8 lb test was the best bet.

7/29/13 - Delavan Lake, 62 degrees, winds E at 10mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 18 largemouth bass, 2 northern pike and a bunch of bluegills.  The bigger fish today were caught on a Thill Big Fish slip bobber with medium suckers.  I caught most of the fish in less than 13 ft of water.  

7/28/13 - Lake Geneva, 60 degrees, N winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 9 smallmouth bass, 4 were legal, and 3 largemouth bass, the largest was over 6 lbs.  Fished in 21-25 ft depth range.  With the strong north winds, we fished on the north shore and by Gage Marine.  The best approach was lindy rigging nightcrawlers.

7/27/13 - Delavan lake, 60 degrees and sunny, light winds out of the SW.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Had a bluegill trip and we kept 40 fish and had them cleaned by 10 a.m.  The bigger fish were in exactly 16 ft of water.  The best presentation was straight lining beneath the boat with leaf worms.

7/26/13 - Lake Geneva, 60 degrees and cloudy, light winds out of the SW.  Water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 21 smallmouth bass, only 3 were legal and a bunch of good bluegills.  We worked by the old Military Academy.  The best depth was 21-22 ft of water.  Leeches and nightcrawlers produced most of the action.

7/25/13 - Delavan Lake, 75 degrees and cloudy, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 15 largemouth and 2 walleyes.  The fish were caught on leeches and split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  We were working a depth of 18-20 ft of water. 

7/22/13 - Delavan Lake, 86 degrees and sunny, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 30 largemouth bass and 50 bluegills.  The bass were all schooled up in a small area, most of the success came on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  We also caught a few northern pike.

7/21/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 82 degrees, E wind at 5 mph.  Caught 19 largemouth, 1 walleye and 1 smallmouth bass.  The pan fish were very active as well.  Split shot rigged nightcrawlers and the weedline are still producing.

7/19/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 92 degrees, water temp 85 degrees, winds 25 mph out of the west.  Caught 22 largemouth and 1 smallmouth.  All fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers, the weedline continued to offer a consistent bite.

7/18/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 90 degrees, water temp 86 degrees, winds calm.  Caught 20 largemouth bass and 1 smallmouth.  The fish were still schooled up on the weedlines with hard bottom.  Again a split shot rigged nightcrawler did the trick.

7/17/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 94 degrees, water temp 86 degrees, SW winds at 5 mph.  Caught 26 largemouth and 2 pike.  Fish were on the weedline in 12-15 ft of water.  All fish were caught on a split shot rigged nightcrawler.

7/16/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 90 degrees, water temp 85, winds calm.  Caught 12 largemouth, 4 smallmouth, 2 walleye and 1 northern pike.  We fished the weedline in 16 ft of water.  All fish were caught on a split shot rigged nightcrawler.

7/13/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 80 degrees, winds SW at 5 mph.  Water temp 79 degrees.  Caught 1 walleye, 5 largemouth bass, 1 smallmouth and a bunch of bluegills.  Fished a few hours with my son and a friend trying to catch some walleyes.  Stayed in the deeper water in 21-25 ft of water but the walleyes weren't that interested.  The largemouth bass were on the weedline very thick.

7/12/13 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, calm winds, water temp 79 degrees. This was a walleye only trip.  Caught 8 walleyes, 1 legal and we caught 6 largemouth and 2 northern pike while fishing for the walleyes.  The best depth was 21 ft of water.  We fished pink jigs and lindy rigs tipped with leeches.  Due to the high skies and lack of wind, walleye fishing was tough but we moved around until we found an active school.

7/11/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 80 degrees, light winds out of the south, water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 9 largemouth bass and a bunch of rock bass and bluegills.  The best location was by Linn Pier in 12-13 ft of water.  Most of the fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  There were some caught on a white hair jig.

7/7/13- Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees, light winds out of the Southwest at 5 mph Water Temp. 78 degrees.  Caught 30 largemouth and 8 smallmouth in a all day trip.  Main lake points were the best, bass are really schooled up.  Nightcrawler and a split shot rig worked the best, 15 feet of water.

6/29/13-  Lake Geneva, rainy with some sun, fished all day, 75 degrees, wind 10mph from East, Water temp.76 degrees Caught 9 smallmouth and 9 largemouth and many rock bass and bluegills.  Best spot by Linn Pier in 10-12 feet of water.  Nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  Good drift wind this day.

6/28/13- Delavan Lake, cloudy with some sun, 80 degrees,water temp 78 degrees-caught 15 largemouth and several smallmouth on the weedlines in 20 feet of water, nightcrawlers were the best.

6/22/13 -  Lake Geneva, rainy with thunderstorms then to sun,  Fished from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Caught 3 smallmouth, 12 largemouth bass and a boat load of rock bass and bluegills.  The fish were biting on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  The best location was by Trinkes or West of Linn Pier.  

6/21/13 - Lake Geneva, cloudy, 70 degrees, water temp 70 degrees.  E winds at 10 mph.  Caught 4 largemouth, 3 smallmouth and many rock bass and bluegills.  The best location was by Trinkes in 12 ft of water.  We were drifting split shot rigged nightcrawlers with great success.  Fishing in Trinkes is usually a bluegill or largemouth bass bite, very few rock bass.

6/19/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 70 degrees, E winds at 10 mph.  Caught 3 largemouth, all legal and 6 smallmouth bass.  The best approach was a split shot rigged nightcrawler fished from Knollwood to Cedar Point.  The best location was right in front of Cisco Beach.  The best depth was 12-14 ft.

6/18/13 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 65 degrees, water temp 69 degrees, E winds at 10 mph.  Caught 3 legal smallmouth and a bunch of bluegills, perch and rock bass. Fishing was tougher today than the past few.  Fished by Knollwood and by the old Military Academy.

6/17/13 - p.m. - Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 72 degrees.  Light winds out of the east.  Caught 15 largemouth bass and a bunch of bluegills.  Tried for northern pike, but the bait was too small.  Talking to others 6-8 inch suckers were the key for northern.  For the bass and bluegills, the best bait was nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig west of the yacht club.

6/17/13 - a.m. - Lake Geneva, sunny 70 degrees, water temp 70 degrees. E wind at 10 mph.  Caught 5 smallmouth, 4 were legal and 3 largemouth in addition to a plethora of rock bass and blue gills.  The best depth was 12-15 ft of water.  Fished in front of Knollwood and Holiday Camp.  We used white hair jigs or split shot rigged nightcrawlers.

6/15/13 - Delavan Lake - 72 degrees and rain, light winds out of the SW, water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 14 largemouth and a bunch of bluegills, we fished only a couple of hours.  All of the fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  The best depth was 12 ft of water.

6/14/13 - Afternoon trip- Lake Geneva - 75 degrees, east winds10 mph.  water temp 70 degrees.  Caught 12 smallmouth bass - 3 were over 18 inches, 3 largemouth bass - 2 were over 18 inches and a dozen bluegills and a ton of rock bass.  With the water temperature warming, we fished nightcrawlers exclusively in 8-12 ft of water.  We drifted from Elgin Club to Colemans Point.

6/12/13 - Lake Geneva - cloudy, 76 degrees, east wind at 10 mph.  water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 2 largemouth and 10 smallmouth and a plethora of rock bass and bluegills.  The best depth was 14 ft of water.  We drifted from Elgin Club to Knollwood.  The fish were caught on fat head minnows and nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.

6/11/13 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 80 degrees, no wind, water temp 63 degrees.  It was a bluegill trip and we caught over 50 of them, in addition to 9 largemouth.  The best depth was 12-15 ft.  We caught most of the fish on leaf worms fished underneath a split shot straight lining beneath the boat.  The best location was by Browns Channel.

6/9/13 - Lake Geneva - cloudy, 75 degrees, water temp 69 degrees, winds light out of the east.  Caught 9 smallmouth, 2 largemouth and a whole lot of rock bass.  The best approach was fat head minnows fished on a split shot rig.  We fished by Knollwood and by the Holiday camp in 12-15 ft of water.

6/6/13 - Delavan Lake - cloudy, 55 degrees, winds out of the north at 10 mph.  Caught 20 largemouth bass and 15 bluegills and one small 15 inch walleye.  The fish were located off main lake points in 10-12 ft of water.  While the bluegills were shallow in 5-6 ft of water. All the fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers fished on bottom.  We fished from 4-8 pm.

6/5/13 - Lake Geneva - cloudy, E wind at 12 mph.  Air temp 60, water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 6 smallmouth and 1 largemouth.  The best depth was 12-15 ft of water.  Fished by Elgin Club and by Aurora college.  The best approach was a hair jig or extra large fat head minnows fished on a split shot rig.  The biggest problem today was trying to keep the rock bass off the hooks.

6/4/13 - Delavan lake - sunny, SE wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Fished mid-day for bluegills.  Caught between 40 and 50 fish, kept 22 eaters and also caught 5 largemouth bass.  The spawning bluegills were enjoying the early summer sun.  They were aggressively biting in 5 ft of water.  The best approach was bobbers and leaf worms. The best location was on the south shore, near the Oriental boat house.

6/3/13- Delavan Lake - sunny, very light winds out of the east, water temp 62 degrees.  Caught 6 largemouth, 5 northern pike and a bunch of bluegills.  Most of the bluegills were caught in 7 ft of water about 5 ft down.  They were in serious spawning mode.  We released all of the bluegills.  The largemouth bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The pike were caught on slip bobber medium suckers.

6/1/13 - Delavan lake - sunny, 75 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 57 degrees.  Went bluegill fishing today and caught about 70 and kept about 35.  They were in the front of the piers in 5-7 ft of water about 4 ft under the water surface.  The best bait was leaf worms.

5/31/13 - Delavan lake - 75 degrees, SW winds at 20 mph.  Water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 15 largemouth, 2 northerns and 30 crappies.  The crappies were caught on small purple plastics outside the weedline in 5-8 ft of water.  Look for the fish by Browns channel or by Belvidere Park.  The bass were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers in 2-3 ft of water.  The biggest was 22 inches.

5/30/13 - Lake Geneva - sunny, 75 degrees, SW winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 56 degrees.  Caught 8 smallmouth bass and a boat load of rock bass.  The smallmouth bass were in 15 ft of water and the rock bass were in 12-15 ft of water.  Split shot rigged minnows worked the best.  Caught most of the fish by Abbey Springs.

5/26/13 - Lake Michigan - sunny, 55 degrees, SE wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 47 degrees.  Caught 10 coho salmon in about 1 hour.  Fished with Brew City Charters.  Thanks Todd!

5/25/13 - Lake Geneva - cloudy, 60 degrees, E winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 4 smallmouth bass; 2 were legal, 10 largemouth and a boat load of rock bass and bluegills.  Fished in Abbey Harbor and the best depth was 3-4 ft.  Due to the Holiday weekend, the lake was busy and made fishing tough.  Fished the main lake and caught the smallmouth and rock bass in 7-10 ft of water.  The best presentation was a split shot rigged fathead minnow.

5/22/13 - Delavan Lake - cloudy, 65 degrees, SW winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 63 degrees.  Caught 1 northern, 2 walleyes and 10 largemouth plus a bunch of bluegills.  Most of the fish were caught in 3-4 ft of water using a split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  The northern was on a slip bobber rigged suckers.  With the warmer water the bluegills are starting to move in to spawn.

5/21/13 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 63 degrees, SW winds at 15 mph.  Caught 9 northern pike, 8 largemouth and several bluegills.  The bluegills and bass were caught in 2-3 ft of water.  The northern pike were caught slip bobbering in 9-10 ft of water by Browns Channel.  Long casts are imperative with the clear water.

5/20/13 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 80 degrees, SE wind at 15 mph, water temp 63 degrees.  Fished in the afternoon, caught 6 largemouth bass and 2 northern pike.  Fishing was tough, we did the 1-5 pm trip, so the time of day was the issue.  The northern pike were caught on slip bobbered suckers and the bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.

5/19/13 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 85 degrees, winds calm, water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 13 largemouth and 10 northern pike.  The same patterns continued to work today.  It's always a great day when you are hitting double digits in multiple species.

5/18/13 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 78 degrees, winds light out of the east, water temp 62 degrees.  Caught 14 largemouth, 1 smallmouth and 11 northern pike.  The fish were still in the shallows in 3-4 ft of water.  The pike again hit on slip bobber rigged suckers.

5/17/13 - Delavan Lake - cloudy, E winds at 15-20 mph, air temp 63 degrees, water temp 62 degrees.  Caught 19 largemouth bass - 4 were legal, 3 smallmouth - 1 was legal, 2 walleyes - 1 was legal and 15 northern pike.  Finally I had a really good day on the water.  It was weird with the cold front and strong east wind but they were biting.  Fish every opportunity, because you just never know.  All the bass and walleye were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers in 3-4 ft of water.  The northern pike were caught near Browns Channel in 10 ft of water.

5/16/13 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 78 degrees, calm winds, water temp 62 degrees.  Caught 8 northerns and 5 largemouth bass.  The northerns were caught in 10 ft of water by Browns Channel on slip bobber rigged medium suckers.  The bass again were tight to shore in 3-4 ft of water.

5/14/13 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 85 degrees, water temp 60 degrees, W winds at 5-10 mph.  Caught 5 northerns, 6 largemouth bass - 3 were legal.  The northern pike were caught in 10 ft of water on medium suckers fished beneath a Thill slip bobber.  The bass were caught tight to shore in 2-3 ft of water.  The bass were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.

5/12/13 - Lake Geneva - sunny, 45 degrees, NW winds at 15 mph.  Caught 7 largemouth bass and 1 smallmouth.  All the fish were caught in 3-4 ft of water in Abbey Harbor.  The best approach was a split shot rigged nightcrawler.  The biggest fish was a 5 lb largemouth.  The main lake was very cold, tried to fish a few spots but the only thing we caught were a few small perch.

5/11/13 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 50 degrees, NW winds at 20-30 mph.  Caught 6 northern pike.  All the fish were caught on a slip bobber rigged suckers in 7-8 ft of water.  The wind made the like un-fishable in most locations.  Tried several locations for largemouth bass but they weren't biting well.

5/10/13 - Rock River - cloudy, 45 degrees, Northwest winds at 15-20 mph.  Caught 6 sauger, 2 were legal.  Fished the mouth of Koshkonong in 6-7 ft of water.  All fish were caught on a jig with 1/2 nightcrawler.

5/5/13-Whitwater Lake- Sunny, 75 degrees, Southwest winds at 10 mph-  Fished Largemouth bass in 3-5 feet of water.  Fished green Pumpkin Senkos with great success in 2 hours of fishing we boated 10 nice bass.  Best location was by the bogs.

5/4/13- Turtle Lake- Opening Day- Partly cloudy,70 degrees, Southwest winds 10mph- Trolled crankbaits along the drop-off in 12-15 feet, Silver and Black produced two largemouth and on northern pike.  Went to the shallows and caught 15 bluegills on red worms fished beneath a bobber.

5/2/13- Delavan Lake- sunny,78 degrees, winds light east, water temp 49 degrees- Fished panfish in the shallows by the outlet in 3 to 4 feet of water.  Caught about 30-40 bluegills on waxworms and red worms.  Bobber and an ice jig worked the best.  Fished crappies in the main lake caught 15 on small plastics fished on a 1/32oz jig, purple was the best color.
