10/12/11 Delavan lake, cloudy, 65 degrees, W winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 10 largemouth - 5 were legal, and 3 northern pike.  All the fish were caught on slip bobber rigged medium suckers in 6-7 ft of water.  The best location was by Browns Channel.

10/10/11 Delavan lake, sunny, 75 degrees, no wind.  Water temp 63 degrees.  Caught 5 walleyes - 1 was legal, 13 largemouth bass - 6 were legal, 1 smallmouth and 1 northern pike.  The walleyes were caught in 16-17 ft of water trolling deep diving crank baits.  The best color was chartreuse.  The largemouth and northern pike were caught on medium suckers fished in 6 ft of water.

10/9/11 Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, light winds out of the SE.  Water temp 62 degrees.  Caught 1 smallmouth, 3 largemouth - one legal, and a few bluegills.  There was excessive boat traffic today.  The Bears play Monday p.m. and the Packers play Sunday p.m.  Couldn't really figure a pattern.  The fish we caught were all on nightcrawlers.  We did have a few bites on medium suckers however, we couldn't hook up.

10/6/11 Delavan lake, p.m., 80 degrees, SE wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 4 smallmouth bass, 1 northern, 9 largemouth, 2 were legal.  The smallmouth and largemouth bass were caught on nightcrawlers.  The northern were caught on suckers fished beneath a slip bobber in 7-8 ft of water.  The best location was down by the island in 10 ft of water.

10/1/11 Delavan Lake, 30 degrees, sunny, winds N at 10-15 mph.  Water temp 58 degrees.  Caught 5 largemouth and 1 northern pike.  Fishing was tough due to the cold front.  Caught a few fish on medium suckers with a slip bobber.

9/29/11 Delavan Lake, 60 degrees, cloudy and rainy, winds N at 5-30 mph.  Water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 20-30 largemouth bass, 4 walleyes and 1 northern pike.  The walleye came on fat head minnows in 20 ft of water.  The bass were tight to shore wherever there was sand bottom in thick weeds.  The pike was caught on a medium sucker.

9/25/11 Delavan Lake, 45 degrees, cloudy and rainy, winds N at 5 mph.  Water temp 63 degrees.  Caught 16 largemouth - 1 was legal.  Unlike the day before, we had equal success on nightcrawlers and medium suckers.  We worked a depth of 8-10 ft of water.

9/24/11 Delavan Lake, 45 degrees, cloudy, winds N at 10 mph.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 2 northern pike, 2 walleyes and 5 largemouth bass.  The walleyes were caught trolling crank baits in 20 ft of water.  Chartreuse was the best color.  The northern pike were caught on medium suckers fished on a split shot rig.  The bass were caught on the same method as the northern.  The most success was fishing main lake points.

9/23/11 Delavan Lake, sunny, 39 degrees, winds N at 5 mph.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 18 largemouth, 3 were legal.  the fish were caught in 6-8 ft of water.  The best approach was either split shot rigging nightcrawlers or slip bobber fishing medium suckers about 1 ft above the weeds.  The key was to find holes in the weed mat.

9/18/11 Delavan Lake, cloudy, rainy, 55 degrees, winds S at 10 mph.  Water temp 68 degrees.  Caught 15 largemouth, 4 smallmouth and 1 walleye.  The bass were caught in 4-5 ft of water against the bank.  Fished split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  The walleye was caught on the weedline in 20 ft of water.

9/17/11 Lake Geneva, sunny, 60 degrees, light winds out of the E at 10 mph.  Water temp 67 degrees.  Caught many perch and small bluegills and a few rock bass.  I had a pan fish trip.  We found a lot of fish, but the average size was a bit small.  We ended up catching about 12 keepers.

9/10/11 Delavan lake, sunny, 69 degrees, winds light out of the SE.  Water temp 69 degrees.  Caught 15 largemouth and 1 smallmouth bass.  The best depth was 5-6 ft of water.  I was fishing the sand pockets around thick weed clumps.  The best bait was a split shot rigged nightcrawler.  The bite seemed to slow as the sun came up in the sky.

9/6/11 Lake Geneva, sunny, 70 degrees, winds SE at 10 mph.  Water temp 69 degrees.  Caught 8 largemouth bass, 2 were legal, 3 smallmouth and a bunch of perch.  Fished 12 ft of water by Linn Pier.  The best bait was a split shot rigged nightcrawler.  The little breeze helped the fishing and made for a good drift.

8/27/11 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy, 78 degrees, N wind at 5-10 mph.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 12 largemouth - 2 were legal, and 1 walleye.  Fishing was good first thing in the a.m., around 8 a.m. the fish just shut down.  Fishing pressure was tremendous.  Every spot had one to two boats on it.  Our fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.

8/26/11 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy, 75 degrees, light SW winds.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 17 largemouth - 3 were legal.  The best location was main lake points.  Caught most of the fish on a split shot rigged nightcrawler.

8/24/11 Delavan Lake, sunny, 90 degrees, SW winds at 15-20 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 20 largemouth, 1 smallmouth and 1 northern pike.  The bite was a combination of slip bobbered suckers and split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  The best depth was 10-13 ft.  Fished main lake points.

8/23/11 Delavan Lake, cloudy, 79 degrees, SW winds at 15-20 mph.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 18 largemouth - 5 were legal and 1 smallmouth bass.  Nothing really changed from the day before, however, the fish bit much better.  The best presentation was a split shot rigged nightcrawler in 8-10 ft of water.

8/22/11 Delavan lake, sunny, 80 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 12 largemouth bass and a few bluegills.  Overall fishing was rather tough.  The best bite was on a slip bobber rig sucker in 15 ft of water.  Concentrated on main lake points.

8/21/11 Delavan lake, sunny, 70 degrees, winds NE at 5 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Today's adventure was a pan fish trip for crappies and bluegills.  We ended up keeping about 12 crappies and through about 5 back.  We were fishing purple and motor oil plastics.  As with recent trips, we had trouble finding decent bluegills.  We caught a bunch in 14 ft of water on leaf worms, however we were unable to keep many of them.  The best location was by Browns Channel and Willow Point.

8/20/11 Delavan Lake, 70 degrees, E winds at 5 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 24 largemouth bass - 3 were legal.  The best approach was a split shot rigged nightcrawler.  The cool part about the trip was that all 24 fish were caught in 2 hours before a thunderstorm chased us off the lake.  Fished west of Del Mar in 15 ft of water.

8/19/11 - Delavan lake, 75 degrees, winds SW at 5 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Fished 2 hours to show some guys around the lake.  We found a lot of bluegills, however the average size was very small.  In 2 hours we caught 7 or 8 keepers but boated about 40.  The highest concentration was in the 12 ft depth range.  

8/18/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 79 degrees, light winds out of the west.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 13 largemouth bass - 4 were legal.  The best presentation was split shot rigging nightcrawlers in 10-15 ft of water.  Fished by Del Mar and by 3 flags.

8/17/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, SW wind 12-15 mph.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 15 Largemouth bass and 6 bluegills.  Fished for a couple of hours with a friend and our kids.  The fish were on the weedline in 10-15 ft of water.  The best location was west of Del Mar and by 3 flags.

8/14/11 - Delavan Lake, cloudy, 70 degrees, water temp 76 degrees, winds N at 15 mph.  Caught 14 largemouth and 1 northern pike.  The bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The pike was caught on a Thill big fish slip bobber and a medium sucker in about 13 ft of water.

8/13/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 76 degrees.  Winds N at 5 mph.  Caught 14 largemouth bass and 1 northern pike.  The bite was really good early but by 9:00 a.m. the bite slowed.  All the bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The best location was near scattered weeds.

8/12/11 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 78 degrees, water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 20 northern pike.  The fish were caught lindy rigging medium suckers in 35-40 ft of water.  The best location was Fontana Beach.  You have to rely on your fish locator and when you see fish, that's where to fish.

8/8/11 - Delavan lake, again rain!  80 degrees, water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 10 largemouth bass and a bunch of bluegills.  The fish were on the weedlines in 15-18 ft of water.  The bigger fish came in the shallower water.  Look for the fish in scattered weeds with a hard rock bottom.

8/7/11 - Delavan Lake, rain and thunderstorms, 84 degrees, water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 14 largemouth bass, 1 northern pike and a bunch of bluegills.  The largemouth bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig on rocks with scattered weeds.  The best depth was 12-15 ft of water.  The pike was caught on a medium sucker fished in 18 ft of water.

8/6/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 84 degrees, winds calm.  Water temp 81 degrees.  Caught 7 largemouth bass - 3 were legal, and many bluegills.  Fished many locations as fishing was a bit slow, we had to move to find active largemouth.  The fish were located in 12-15 ft of water.  the best approach was split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  Bluegills were readily available in 12-14 ft fishing leaf worms on a split shot straight beneath the boat.

8/5/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 86 degrees, light winds at 5 mph.  Water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 6 largemouth bass and many many bluegills.  The fish were very sporadic today.  The best depth was 18 ft of water.  The fish were located by Del Mar and by the concrete point.

8/4/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 87 degrees, SE winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 10 largemouth bass and 30 bluegills.  The bluegills are right on the weedline in 15-18 ft of water.  The best location is west of the Oriental boat house.  The best approach is straight lining leaf worms beneath the boat.

8/3/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees, winds N at 5 mph.  Water temp 81 degrees.  Caught 12 largemouth bass, 2 northern pike, 1 bull head and many bluegills.  Fished by Del Mar and the Oriental boat house in 15 ft of water with a split shot rigged nightcrawler.

8/2/11 - Delavan Lake, 90 degrees and humid.  Rain and thunderstorms, SW winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 82 degrees.  In 3 hours of fishing we caught 14 largemouth - 6 were legal.  The bass were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  The best depth was 15 ft of water.

8/1/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 88 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 14 largemouth bass - 5 were legal, 1 northern pike - 30 inches, and 35 bluegills.  Northern pike was caught on a medium sucker fished on a lindy rig.  The bass were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.

7/31/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 98 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 2 northern pike and 4 largemouth bass and 30 bluegills.  Fished the afternoon.  Fishing was very slow due to boat traffic.  The fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  The best location was by the Oriental boat house.

7/30/11 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 85 degrees, winds were calm.  Water temp 79 degrees. Caught 9 northern pike and lost 4 others.  Fishing the thermocline was kind of slow today.  We lindy rigged medium suckers in 25-45 ft of water.  The best location was by Cedar Point where we caught 4 of our fish.  The fish were not very aggressive.  It felt like just a bit of additional weight on the line.

7/27/11 - Delavan lake, rainy, thunderstorms, 70 degrees.  Winds SE at 15 mph.  Water temp 79 degrees.  Caught 18 largemouth.  We were chased off the lake twice due to storms, but the fish were aggressive while we were there.  We caught all 18 fish off of one school.  The best location was west of the Yacht Club in 18 ft of water.

7/26/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 90 degrees, SE winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 6 northern pike and 15 largemouth.  When you found the schools of largemouth it was non-stop action.  The best depth was 16 ft of water.  Fished a split shot rigged nightcrawler.

7/25/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees, winds light, water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 6 northern pike, 4 largemouth bass and 50 bluegills.  Today fishing was a bit tougher, there were way too many bluegills on the weedline to catch many bass.  We had a lot of fun reeling in that many fish in 4 hours.

7/24/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees, winds light out of the SE at 10 mph.  Water temp 82 degrees.  Caught 15 largemouth, 6 northern pike- the biggest was 30 inches, and a boat load of bluegills.  Today the fish were very schooled up.  Look for the fish on weed points with hard rock bottom, we only moved the boat twice today.  The best bait was a nightcrawler on a split shot rig.

7/23/11 - Delavan Lake, cloudy, rainy, 85 degrees, winds W at 15 mph.  Water temp 83 degrees.  Caught 28 largemouth and 1 northern pike.  Fishing was fantastic.  The fish were really schooled up.  All the fish were caught from 2 spots.  The best presentation was medium suckers fished with a Thill slip bobber.

7/19/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 98 degrees, E wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 83 degrees.  Caught 5 northern pike, 8 largemouth bass and a bunch of bluegills.  Today the fish were scattered amongst the weedline.  You needed to keep moving to find the fish.  They weren't schooled up.  The best bait was a nightcrawler fished on a split shot rig.

7/17/11 - Delavan Lake, 89 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 15 largemouth, 3 northern pike and 1 walleye.  Fishing was excellent today.  The fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig or on a medium sucker.  A good presentation for the bass was a slip bobber fished with a medium sucker in about 14 ft of water.  Some of the biggest fish of the year hit today.  

7/16/11- p.m. - Delavan lake, 89 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 3 largemouth, 3 northern pike and 1 legal walleye.  Fishing in the afternoon was really tough.  The boat traffic and the high pressure seemed to turn the fish off.  The good thing about this trip was that the fish were very big.  Two of the largemouth were over 18 inches and the pike was almost 31 inches.  The northern pike came on lindy rigged medium suckers.

7/16/11 -a.m. - Delavan Lake, 85 degrees, winds calm and the water temp was 77 degrees.  Caught 13 largemouth bass and 3 northern pike and 1 walleye.  Fished all over the lake, the lake was extremely busy and hard to find places to fish.  Caught most of the fish on a split shot rigged nightcrawler.  Caught some of the bigger largemouth bass on Thill slip bobbers and medium suckers.

7/15/11 - Delavan Lake, 80 degrees, winds light out of the north.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 12 bass and 2 northern pike.  The best fishing was west of the Yacht Club in 15-20 ft of water.  All our fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The sucker fishing today was very slow.

7/13/11 - Delavan Lake, 85 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 8 largemouth - 3 were legal, 4 northern pike and 1 walleye.  We were fishing the deep weedlines in 15-20 ft of water.  The best approach was split shot rigging nightcrawlers.  We also caught quite a few fish on Thill slip bobbers with suckers in the weedline.  

7/9/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 90 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 9 northern pike, 4 walleyes - 2 were legal, and 6 largemouth bass.  The northern pike were caught on lindy rigged suckers.  Some of the pike were also caught on Thill big fish slip bobbers.

7/8/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 90 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 15 largemouth bass- 4 were legal, 9 northern pike, 4 walleyes and 3 smallmouth bass.  The largemouth bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig, while the northerns came off of medium suckers.  The best depth was 20 ft of water.

7/4/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees, winds calm, water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 100 bluegills and 2 smallmouth bass. All the bluegills were caught on leaf worms fished on a split shot rig.  The fish were caught in 15 ft of water.  

7/3/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees, winds calm, water temp 72 degrees.  Caught 6 Northern Pike, 4 largemouth bass, 2 smallmouth bass and 2 walleyes.  Northern Pike were caught on medium suckers fished in 20 ft of water.  All other game fish were caught on a split shot rigged nightcrawler.

7/2/11- p.m. - Delavan Lake, 86 degrees, winds W at 15 mph, water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 9 northerns, 3 walleyes and 3 largemouth bass.  The bass and walleye were caught on the weedline in 20 ft of water on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.  The pike were caught lindy rigging medium suckers in 20-25 ft of water.

7/2/11 - a.m. - Delavan Lake, 76 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph, water temp 74 degrees, very humid.  Caught 11 northerns - 1 was legal, 4 walleyes, 2 largemouth, 3 smallmouth, the largest was 22 inches caught on a sucker.  Fished the outside of the weedline in 20-27 ft of water.  The best location was by Willow Point.

6/30/11 - Delavan Lake, afternoon, 85 degrees and sunny, W winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 12 northern pike, 1 was legal, 4 largemouth bass and 1 walleye.  The northern pike were caught on medium suckers fished on the weedlines, the walleyes and largemouth bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on the split shot rig.

6/28/11 - Delavan Lake, afternoon, 80 degrees and sunny, W winds light at 5 mph.  Water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 9 northerns, 5 walleyes and 2 largemouth bass - 1 was legal.  Again fished the weedlines in 20-25 ft of water.

6/27/11 - p.m. - Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees, water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 14 northern pike, 2 largemouth, and 2 smallmouth bass.  All the fish were on the weedline in 20-25 ft of water.  The northern pike were caught on lindy rigged medium suckers.

6/27/11- Delavan Lake, rainy then sunny, 78 degrees, W winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 70 degrees.  Caught 11 northerns, 4 largemouth bass and a lot of bluegills.  The northern Pike were caught on lindy rigged suckers fished in 22-27 ft of water.  The bass were on the weedline in 20 ft of water, caught on nightcrawlers.  The best location was by the Yacht Club.

6/26/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 71 degrees.  Winds E at 5 mph.  Caught 6 northern pike, the largest was 31 inches and 15 largemouth bass, the largest was just over 5 lbs.  The best presentation was nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig or lindy rigging suckers for the northern pike.  Look for the fish off the main lake points.

6/25/11 - Lake Geneva, 75 degrees, sunny, winds light out of the NE.  Water temp 70 degrees.  Caught 1 lake trout, 2 smallmouth bass and 2 largemouth bass and a boat load of rock bass.  All the bass came off of split shot rigged nightcrawlers in 12-16 ft of water.  The lake trout came by down rigging spoons in the main lake basin in approximately 80 ft of water.

6/24/11- Delavan Lake, 72 degrees, partly sunny, NW wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 3 northerns and 12 largemouth bass, the biggest was 5 lbs 9 oz.  The best location was by the Yacht Club. Lindy rigging medium suckers produced most of the action.  Today was slower than Thursday, the fish are on the weedlines so you had to keep moving.

6/23/11 - Delavan Lake, rainy, 69 degrees, wind NW at 15 mph.  Water temp 70 degrees.  Caught 5 walleyes - 1 was legal, 4 northerns - 1 was 40 inches and 15 largemouth bass.  All the fish were caught on the weedline in 18-20 ft of water.  Nightcrawlers and lindy rigged suckers were the best bet.

6/19/11 - Lake Geneva, partly cloudy, 78 degrees.  Water temp 65 degrees.  Happy Fathers Day!  We will be fishing for smallmouth bass in 10-14 ft of water and as many fish as we can catch.  I'm taking a friend and two small children.  The rock bass should be biting well and will keep the younger folks interested.

6/18/11 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 80 degrees, E winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 5 largemouth, the biggest was 4 lbs.  and one smallmouth, 22 inches.  Lost 5 other fish.  We had a terrible time keeping the fish on the hook.  The best depth was 10-14 ft of water.  The best location was west of Linn Pier.  The biggest smallie came off of Conference Point.

6/13/11 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 72 degrees, NE winds at 12 mph.  Water temp 62 degrees.  Caught 2 smallmouth bass, both were legal and we lost the third.  Caught 1 largemouth, 3.6 lbs and loads of rock bass.  Fished by Belvidere Park and by Black Point with Black Point being the better choice.  The best depth was 12-13 ft of water.

6/12/11 - Lake Geneva, sunny, light winds out of the East, 65 degrees, water temp 63 degrees.  Caught 7 smallmouth bass, 5 were legal, and a bunch of rock bass, bluegills and perch.  The best bait was a white hair jig in 12-13 ft of water.  There are still some bass spawning however, a lot of the fish were actively feeding up so they were getting the hair jig about 2 ft off bottom.  The nightcrawlers caught all of the rock bass.

6/11/11 - Delavan Lake, sunny, N winds at 10 mph.  50 degrees, water temp 68 degrees.  Caught a mix of bluegills and crappies in 10-12 ft of water.  The blugills were caught slip bobbering Thill slip bobbers and the crappies were caught on purple plastics.  The best location was by Del Mar and by the Marina.

6/08/11- Delavan Lake, cloudy, W winds at 15-20 mph.  70 degrees, water temp 71 degrees.  Caugth 1 northern Pike and 20-30 crappies.  Had a hard time lindy rigging the suckers due to the heavy winds.  Fished them in 18-20 ft of water.  The crappies were right on the weedline in 10-12 ft of water.  Purple plastics produced most of the fish.

6/7/11 - Delavan Lake, p.m., sunny SW winds at 15-20 mph.  95 degrees, water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 13 largemouth bass, lost about 6 others.  I had a hard time hooking the fish.  We were fishing post spawn fish by Lake Lawn Lodge and in Viewcrest Bay.  The best depth was 3-4 ft of water.  Best bait was Texas rigged Senko's

6/7/11 - Lake Geneva, a.m., sunny SW winds at 10-15 mph.  90 degrees, water temp 63 degrees.  Today was a continuation of yesterdays rock bass harvest.  No one can say I don't do my share to remove Rock Bass from Lake Geneva!  In two days, I cleaned about 80 fish.

6/6/11 - Lake Geneva, p.m., sunny, SW winds at 15-20 mph.  90 degrees, water temp 63 degrees.  Caught 2 smallmouth bass and about 75 rock bass.  This trip was to put meat in my customers freezer.  Most of the fish were caught in Belvidere Park in 8-10 ft of water.  The best bait was split shot rigged nightcrawlers.

6/6/11 - Lake Geneva, a.m., sunny, light winds out of the east at 5 mph.  70 degrees, water temp 61 degrees.  Caught 1 legal largemouth, 3 smallmouth bass and a load of rock bass.  The best depth was 10-12 ft of water.  Fished by Colemans point and Belvidere Park.  The best bait was a white hair jig or the Klozar minnow fished on a fly rod.

6/5/11 - Delavan Lake, 80 degrees, winds were calm.  Water temp 61 degrees.  Caught 2 largemouth bass, 20 bluegills and 21 crappies.  Took my son and brother in law on a pan fish trip.  Had a lot of success in the 12-15 ft weedline.  The bluegills were caught in 3-4 ft of water on small leaf worms.

6/4/11 - Lake Koshkonong, 85 degrees, E wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 59 degrees.  Caught 8 legal walleyes, 8 jumbo perch and a bunch of white bass.  Trolled #5 Shad Raps in 5-6 ft of water.  Fished near Charlies Bluff.

6/3/11 - Lake Geneva, 75 degrees, SW winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 58 degrees.  Caught 9 largemouth bass and one smallmouth bass and about 40 rock bass.  Most of the fish were caught on nightcrawlers.  The best depth was 10-12 ft of water.  Spent most of the time fishing the west end of the lake near Fontana.

6/1/11 - Lake Geneva, 70 degrees, SW winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 54 degrees.  Caught 10 largemouth bass - 3 were legal, along with several perch, rock bass and bluegills.  The fish were caught in 8-10 ft of water on fat head minnows and nightcrawlers.  The best location was in Fontana.

5/30/11 - Delavan Lake, 85 degrees, sunny, W winds at 10 mph, water temp 59 degrees.  Caught 1 Northern and 8 largemouth bass.  Fishing was very slow.  There was a tremendous amount of boat traffic out on the water and that made fishing very tough.

5/29/11 - Delavan Lake, 56 degrees, foggy and cloudy, winds calm, water temp 58 degrees.  Caught 11 largemouth, 1 walleye and 4 northern pike.  All the fish were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers in 3-4 ft of water near Lake Lawn Lodge.  The northern pike were caught on large golden shiners near Browns Channel.

5/28/11 - Delavan Lake, 40 degrees, cloudy, winds W at 15-20 mph.  Water temp 58 degrees.  Caught 14 largemouth, the biggest was just shy of 5 lbs. and 5 northern pike.  Fished nightcrawlers on a split shot rig in 3-4 ft of water.  Fished by the outlet and by Lake Lawn.  Northern Pike were caught on large golden shiners fished on a slip bobber in 11 ft of water.  The key was keeping the bait 2 ft above the weeds, we were fishing near Browns Channel.

5/27/11 - Lake Geneva, 55 degrees, sunny, wind E at 15-20 mph.  Water temp 56 degrees.  Caught 9 largemouth - 3 were legal, 3 smallmouth - 2 were legal.  Fished in Abbey harbor with nightcrawlers on a split shot rig.  Did catch one of the bigger largemouth on the top water lure.  The smallmouth bass came by Belvidere Park and by Elgin Club.  The bite was pretty slow.

5/22/11 - Delavan Lake, 80 degrees, sunny, water temp 60 degrees, W wind at 20 mph.  Caught 12 largemouth, 2 northern pike and 12 crappies and bluegills.  Fishing was good, except for the desired species of crappie.  Most of the game fish were caught in the first 1 1/2 hours of the trip.  We spent 3 hours trying to find the crappies with little success.  The normal haunts were closed due to high winds.

5/21/11 - Delavan Lake, 55 degrees, cloudy, water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 21 largemouth, 2 northern pike and 7 crappies.  The bass were caught by Lake Lawn in 3-4 ft of water.  They were caught on Senkos and nightcrawlers.  The pike were caught on slip bobbers in 10-11 ft of water.  Crappies were caught on small plastics.

5/19/11- Delavan Lake, sunny 75 degrees, winds NE at 4 mph.  Water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 11 Northern Pike and 11 Largemouth bass.  The Northern Pike were caught on golden shiners fished on a Thill slip bobber in 10-11 ft of water.  The best location was by Browns Channel.  The bass were caught by Lake Lawn in 3-4 ft of water.  They bit on nightcrawlers.

5/17/11 - Lake Koshganong, 65 degrees, winds E at 15 mph.  Water temp 58 degrees.  Caught 3 walleyes and 3 white bass.  Trolled Lindy Shadlings at the mouth of the Rock River by Newville.  We were fishing 5 ft of water.  We had the crank baits set 25 ft back behind the planer boards.

5/16/11 - Delavan Lake, 38 degrees, winds E at 15-20 mph, water temp 55 degrees.  Caught 6 largemouth bass - 2 legal, and several crappies and bluegills.  Fishing was slow due to the cold front.  Fished 3-4 ft of water. Used nightcrawlers on a split shot rig.

5/15/11 - Delavan Lake, 45 degrees, windy, windy, windy with some rain.  Water temp 59 degrees.  When people don't think the weather can get worse, it sure can.  We struggled to catch 6 largemouth.  All were caught on Senkos.  We did fish for a few bluegills in the channels to get away from the wind.  We kept about 20 nice 8 inch gills.

5/14/11 - Delavan Lake, 49 degrees, windy, cloudy, rainy, water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 6 largemouth and some crappies.  The weather was atrocious.  The bass were caught on green pumpkin and root beer red flake Senkos.  The bass were in 2-3 ft of water.  The best location was by the outlet dam.  The crappies were caught on small fat head minnows by Willow Point in 7-8 ft of water.  The north wind was a huge factor.

5/10/11 - Rock River (Newville), 85 degrees and sunny, light winds, water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 1 - 15" sauger, 3 walleyes, all around 16 inches, 2 northern pike and 1 white bass.  Fished the mouth of the river with a 3/8 oz orange and chartreuse odd ball jigs.  The best depth was 5-6 ft.  Fished 1/2 nightcrawlers.  The key was to have a stinger hook in the end of the nightcrawlers.  It was a beautiful evening on the water.

5/8/11 - Whitewater Lake, 65 degrees and sunny, very light winds, water temp 51 degrees.  Caught 8 largemouth bass.  Fished using green pumkin All Terrain stiks in 4-5 ft of water.  The best location was by the bogs.

5/7/11 - Delavan Lake, 45 degrees and cloudy, winds E at 5 mph increasing to about 20 mph.  Water temp 49 degrees.  Caught 3 largemouth, 1 Northern Pike and had 3 other pike on, and 17 crappies and bluegills.  The bass were caught in Lake Lawn Harbor on nightcrawlers.  The pike was caught by Browns Channel on golden shiners on a slip bobber in 9 ft of water.  The crappies were also caught on slip bobbers in Browns Channel with fat head minnows.  The best depth was 7 ft of water.  The bluegills were caught shallow, 3-4 ft of water in Browns Channel.  They were caught on a Genz bug and a leaf worm.

5/6/11 - Delavan Lake, 40 degrees and sunny, winds E at 15 mph.  Water temp 49 degrees.  Caught 30 bluegills, only kept about 10.  The average size was small.  Fished by the dam and Browns Channel.  Used leaf worms and small bobbers.
