10/28/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 35 degrees, water temp 58 degrees, no wind.  Caught 6 walleyes - 2 legals and 1 crappie.  Fishing again was tough.  The lake hasn't turned over yet.  Fished split shot minnows on a split shot rig.  The best location was by the Oriental boathouse.

10/27/07 Lake Geneva - cloudy, 40 degrees, water temp 58 degrees.  Strong NW winds at 15 mph.  Caught 11 smallmouth - 3 legals.  Fishing was tough.  Most of the fish were caught on either a medium golden roach or nightcrawlers.  The best depth was 21-22 ft.  The best location was by Yerkes Observatory.

10/14/07 Delavan Lake - cloudy, rainy, 60 degrees, water temp 63 degrees, light winds out of the west.  Caught 8 walleyes - 3 legals, 7 largemouth, and 1 northern pike.  Fishing was pretty good today.  All the fish were caught on lindy rigged fathead minnows.  Browns Channel was the best location.  The ideal depth was 20-21 ft of water.

10/13/07 Delavan Lake - cloudy, 65 degrees, water temp 63 degrees, W winds at 5 mph.  Caught 2 walleye, 5 largemouth - 1 legal, 1 smallmouth bass and a bunch of bluegills.  Caught all the fish on the weedlines in 18-22 ft of water.  The best bait was nightcrawlers.  We did catch a few on fathead minnows but crawlers were better.  Trolled suckers around without success.

10/7/07  Delavan Lake - sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 68 degrees, W winds at 5 mph.  Fishing was tough, caught only 2 walleyes, 17 and 12 inches.  My buddies were out at the same time, one boat had 10 and another had 20 walleyes, you had to be on an active school to catch them.    The people in my boat were disappointed, however they knew we just picked the wrong weedline to start.  The best depth was 20-25 ft of water.

10/6/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 68 degrees, winds SW at 10-15 mph.  Caught 40-50 smallmouth bass from 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.  Most of the fish were caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers.  Fished two spots, Yerkes Observatory and the Military Academy.  Due to the warm weather, the boat traffic was intense and made fishing tough.  The best depth was 21-30 ft of water. 

10/2/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 68 degrees, winds S at 15 mph.  Fished in the afternoon, caught 22 smallmouth by the Military Academy.  All the fish were caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers.  The best leader length was 24 inches.

10/1/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 68 degrees, winds were calm.  Fished for 2 1/2 hours and caught 17 smallmouth bass on nightcrawlers on a lindy rig.  Fished by Yerkes Observatory in 21-25 ft of water.  Fishing was awesome.

9/30/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 67 degrees.  Winds out of the S at 20-30 mph.  Caught 14 smallmouth - 6 legal and a few rock bass and perch.  Fishing was a bit slow.  We fished from Abbey Springs to the Military Academy.  My best depth was 18-21 ft.  Lindy rigged nightcrawlers produced most of the action.

9/29/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 67 degrees.  Winds out of the SW at 10 mph.  Caught  5 largemouth, 1 northern and had 4-5 others on that let go.  Fishing was slow.  All the fish were caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers in 21-25 ft of water.  The pike action came on lindy rigged suckers.

9/24/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 74 degrees, water temp 68 degrees.  Winds out of the SW at 15 mph.  Caught 7 smallmouth - 4 legal.  Todays action was very slow.  The best bite was in the a.m.  Most of the fish were caught on nightcrawlers.  I did catch one or two on lindy rigged perch.  Fished by the Military Academy and Yerkes Observatory.

9/23/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 72 degrees, water temp 69 degrees.  Winds out of the SE at 10-15 mph.  Caught 20 smallmouth - 15 were legal, caught a few over 18 inches.  Most of the fish were caught on nightcrawlers or on lindy rigged yellow perch.  Only fished by the Military Academy in 20-30 ft of water.

9/22/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 80 degrees, water temp 69 degrees.  Light winds out of the SW.  Caught 25 smallmouth - 18 were legal, the largest was 17 1/2 inches.  Most of our fish today were caught on nightcrawlers fished on the lindy rig.  The best depth was 21-28 ft of water.  Fished by the Military Academy, Conference Point and Maytag Point.

9/21/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 70 degrees, water temp 69 degrees, winds SW at 10-35 mph.  Caught 38 smallmouth - 20 were legal, the largest was 18 inches.  We caught most of our fish on nightcrawlers, wax worms and yellow perch.  The best depth was 21-28 ft of water.  Fished by the Military Academy, Conference Point and Fontana Beach.  

9/16/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 60 degrees, water temp 70 degrees.  Caught 32 smallmouth - 25 were legal.  The largest was 20 inches.  The key to fishing today was nightcrawlers and small yellow perch.  The biggest fish were caught lindy rigging yellow perch 2 ft off bottom.  Fished two spots, one by the Military Academy and one by Yerkes Observatory.  The best depth was 21 ft of water.

9/15/07 Delavan Lake - p.m. trip - sunny, 70 degrees - water temp 70 degrees. winds calm.  Caught 3 largemouth and 3 northerns - the largest northern was 34 inches.  Fishing was very slow, I wish we would have fished Geneva - all the fish were caught off the weedline in 16-20 ft.  The northerns were most active 12 ft down in 20 ft of water.

9/15/07 Lake Geneva - a.m. trip - sunny, 38 degrees - water temp 69 degrees.  Caught 22 smallmouth - 8 legal, 1 northern pike - 22 inches.  All the fish were caught on lindy rigged perch and nightcrawlers.  Started at Fontana Beach moved to the Military Academy and then moved over to the Observatory.  The best depth was 21 ft.

9/14/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 65 degrees, NW winds at 5 mph.  Caught 16 smallmouth - 5 legal.  All the fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a lindy rig.  The best spot was from Abbey Springs to the Military Academy.

9/12/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 70 degrees, winds SW at 5 mph.  Caught 15 smallmouth - 6 legals, the biggest fish was 17 inches.  All the fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a lindy rig in 20-22 ft of water.  Fished from Abbey Springs to the Military Academy.

9/9/07 Delavan lake - sunny, 70 degrees, winds mostly calm.  Caught 7 walleyes- no legals and 4 largemouth bass - 2 legal.  Fished again for a few hours in the a.m.  The abundance of fishermen made fishing very tough.  Every spot or weedline had 4-5 boats on it.  It was pretty intense.  The fish were caught in 21-22 ft of water.  Today most of my fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig, casting toward shore and then fishing it back to the boat.

9/8/07 Delavan lake - sunny, 70 degrees, mostly calm winds.  Caught 8 walleyes -2 legals and 3 northern pike.  Fished 2 hours in the a.m. - was off the lake by 8 a.m.  Caught most of my fish on small suckers.  The walleyes were in 21-22 ft of water right off the weedline.  Lindy rigging with a 2 ft leader was the best approach.  The best location was by the Village Supper Club.

9/7/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 80 degrees, winds out of the SW at 10 mph.  Caught 17 smallmouth - 6 legals, and a lot of perch and bluegill.  The best depth was 20-27 ft of water.  Fished by Maytag Point and Elgin Club.  

8/25/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 74 degrees, winds out of the NE at 5 mph.  Caught 16 smallmouth - 4 legals, and many bluegills and rock bass.  Fished by the Military Academy in 25 ft of water.  All the fish were caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers.

8/22/07 Lake Geneva - cloudy, 75 degrees, humid, winds S at 5 mph.  Caught 9 smallmouth - 7 were legal and many many rock bass and bluegills.  All the fish were caught lindy rigging nightcrawlers is 25 ft of water.  The best location was by Knollwood and Cisco Bay.

8/21/07 Delavan Lake - cloudy, 75 degrees and humid.  Winds were out of the SE at 5 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  A.M. Trip - Caught 20 largemouth, the largest was 5 lbs even.  Caught 4 other legals.  3 northern pike, the largest was 30 inches and a bunch of bluegills.  The fish were tight to the weedline.  Fished nightcrawlers on a split shot rig.  Northern Pike were caught on suckers.  Fished most of the south shore.  There was no rhyme or reason to location today.  We just slowly moved down the weedline.  There was not one key spot.

P.M. Trip - Delavan Lake - 75 degrees and humid. What a difference a few hours can make.  I really really had to work to catch fish.  We ended up catching only 9 largemouth - the largest was about 2 lbs.  Caught many bluegills however.  I had to move around since I'd pressured most of my spots in the a.m. so I had to fish a lot of fresh water mostly by Willow Point and the Village Supper Club.

8/18/07 Lake Geneva - cloudy, 65 degrees.  SE wind at 10-15 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 9 smallmouth - the largest was 18 inches, 2 largemouth - the largest was 16 inches, 2 northerns and many bluegills and rock bass.  Most of the production was in 25 ft of water.  Lindy rigged nightcrawlers worked well but due to the wind I had to have a 1/2 inch walking sinker and 2 ft. leader.  We fished by Coleman's Point, Knollwood and the Military Academy.

8/17/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 65 degrees.  NE winds at 5 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 1 lake trout - 5 lbs.  Had one hour to fish in the a.m. before work.  The fish came at 6:15 on a silver and green spoon in 102 ft of water.  The fish was suspended 85 ft down.

8/16/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 70 degrees, winds out of the NE at 10 mph.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 8 largemouth - the largest was 4.1 lbs, 1 walleye- 17 inches and 26 inch northern in addition to many bluegills.  We fished the weedlines again today.  The points didn't produce as well as they have been.  Most of the productive spots were on the south shore.  The best depth was 18-20 ft.  Had suckers down the whole time but it northerns were slow.

8/13/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 75 degrees, winds out of the SW at 5 mph. Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 9 largemouth - the biggest was 4.2 lbs, 7 northern pike - the largest was 30 inches, and kept 30 bluegills for a fish fry.  Fishing was great.  Nightcrawlers fished on the weedline were the best bet.  The pike were very active, we caught 7 on two polls and had 2 other fish bite off.  We used medium suckers fished 1 ft of bottom in 25 ft of water.  

8/12/07 Delavan lake - sunny, 80 degrees, winds out of the SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 4 pike, 1 brown bullhead, 9 largemouth and we cleaned about 40 bluegills.  The bass were definately more active today.  We were catching a lot of fish in just a few spots.  The same program as the rest of the week, nightcrawlers on the weedline in 16-22 ft of water.

8/11/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 80 degrees, light winds out of the SW - water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 3 pike, 1 bass and a few bluegills in an hour of fishing.  I was out giving my son a boat ride.  All 3 pike came by the gray condos in 22 ft of water.  They were all caught on suckers.

8/10/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 90 degrees, light winds out of the SW.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 9 largemouth, 3 pike and a bunch of bluegills.  Most of the fish again were on the weedlines.  I fished depths between 20 and 22 ft of water.  Most of the pike came off the north shore near Willow Point.  

8/6/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 90 degrees, light winds out of the SW.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 5 largemouth - largest was 4 lbs., 3 northerns and cleaned 50-60 bluegills.  Fishing was really slow.  The fish we caught were on the weedlines.  We used nightcrawlers and lindy-rigged suckers.  The best spot was the south shore.

8/5/07 Delavan Lake - cloudy, 82 degrees, SW wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 81 degrees.  Caught 3 largemouth and 50 or 60 bluegills.  Took my 4 year old son fishing - looking for some action and bluegills are the way to go.  Caught all of our fish in 18-20 ft of water.  The bass came on suckers fished on a lindy rig.  Drifted most of the south shore in 2 hours.

8/3/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 88 degrees, NE winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 9 largemouth - the largest was 4.3 lbs., 1 smallmouth bass, 1-16 inch walleye, 1 northern about 28 inches, and many bluegills.  All the fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig in 18-20 ft of water.  Most of the success came off of some rarely used spots - the fish on my favorite spots must have sore mouths - they weren't biting.

8/1/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 90 degrees. NE wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 79 degrees.  Caught 3 northern pike, 1 largemouth and about 50 bluegills.  Fishing was pretty tough today.  The largemouth bass were off and the pike were hitting, taking out a little line and then spitting out the suckers.  Fished the weedline in 18-25 ft of water.

7/29/07 Delavan lake - sunny, 75 degrees. Light winds out of the NW.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 16 largemouth - 5 legal, 1 legal smallmouth, and 3 northern pike.  Continued working the deep weedlines with nightcrawlers.  The pike continue to like the suckers.

7/28/07 Lake Geneva - cloudy, 75 degrees. Water temp 75 degrees. Winds NE at 15 mph.  Caught 2 largemouth - both legal, 2 smallmouth and 1 northern pike and also many panfish.  Started the guide party trolling for walleye, but all we caught was one northern and one bass.  Worked the area by Abbey Springs.  The other area we tried was Knollwood and the Military Academy.  Worked a depth range between 10 and 30 ft of water. 

7/27/07 Delavan Lake - partly cloudy, 75 degrees.  Water temp 77, Winds out of the NE at 10 mph.  Caught 9 largemouth bass and 4 northern pike.  The largest bass today was just 4 lbs.  The biggest pike was 31 inches.  Fished nightcrawlers on the deep weed-lines and used suckers for the pike.

7/26/07 Delavan Lake - Cloudy and 85 degrees.  Water temp 77, NW wind at 10 mph.  Caught 10 largemouth and 5 northern pike.  The biggest bass was 4 lbs 7 oz.  The biggest pike was 32 inches.  Fished nightcrawlers on the deep weedline.  The pike were caught on suckers.  Today we caught several nice bass on suckers also. Fished the south shore.

7/25/07 Delavan Lake p.m.- Sunny, 85 degrees. Water temp 76, W winds at 10 mph.  Caught 10 largemouth bass - the biggest was just over 5 lbs.  Caught 3 northern pike and many bluegills.  Fished the deep weed-line in 20 ft of water.  All the fish were caught on nightcrawlers on the split shot or a jig worm with a green pumpkin finesse worm.

7/25/07 - Lake Geneva a.m. - Sunny, 85 degrees. Water temp 75, W wind at 10 mph.  Caught rock bass and a lot of bluegills.  In the last hour of the trip we fished for northerns and caught 3 - all the pike were on lindy rigged suckers in Williams Bay.  Overall fishing was very slow.  We should have spent more time northern pike fishing.

7/24/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 75 degrees, SW wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 3 largemouth, 1 northern and many panfish.  Fishing was slow.  The northern came out of 30 ft of water caught on a sucker on the lindy rig, caught near Williams Bay. The bass came out of Colemans Point area in 12-14 ft of water.  We had 2 others on that broke off.

7/22/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 75 degrees, no wind.  Water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 12 largemouth - 3 legal, 3 northern pike - largest was 31 inches, 1 walleye and tons of bluegills.  Fished from Belvidere Park to the west.  Most of the success came from nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  Fishing was pretty slow today on the suckers.  All fish preferred nightcrawlers.  I fished a split shot and a single hook.  Out on the water from 7 a.m. to noon.

7/21/07 Delavan Lake - Sunny, SE winds at 10 mph.  Air temp 70 degrees.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 17 largemouth - 5 legal, 5 northerns and 30 bluegills.  Fished nightcrawlers and suckers in 18-20 ft of water.  The best location was by the gray condos or by Belvidere Park.

7/20/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, SE winds at 10 mph.  Air temp 75 degrees. Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 12 largemouth - 5 legal, 1 northern pike, 1 walleye - 22 inches and 80 bluegills.  Fished nightcrawlers on a split shot rig on the weedline.  The best location was 16-18 ft on the south shore.

7/18/07 Lake Geneva - cloudy, SE winds at 10 mph.  Air temp 70 degrees.  Water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 1 northern, 2 smallmouth, 3 largemouth and many bluegills.  The bass were caught in 15 ft of water on nighcrawlers fished on split shot rig.  The best location was the Military Academy or Williams Bay. 1 pike and 1 smallmouth were caught on suckers.

7/17/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, SW winds at 10 mph. Air temp 75 degrees.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 10 largemouth - 4 legal, the largest was 4.2 lbs., 5 northerns - largest was 30 inches.  Caught most of the fish on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The deep weedline in 16-18 ft produced most of the action.

7/16/07 a.m. Delavan Lake - sunny, SW winds at 10 mph.  Air temp 70 degrees. Water temp 74 degrees.  Caught 14 largemouth - 4 legal, the largest was 5'3 oz also caught 1 northern and 30-40 bluegills.  

7/16/07 p.m. Caught 11 largemouth - 4 over 5 lbs., 30-40 bluegills.  All the fish this day were caught on a split shot rig and nighcrawlers, except the pike which was caught on a sucker.

7/15/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, winds out of the west at 10 mph.  Air temp 72 degrees.  Water temp 74 degrees.  This was a bluegill trip.  We caught many panfish and a few smallmouth and largemouth bass.  We drifted nightcrawlers in 12-14 ft of water.  The best location was the Military Academy and by Knollwood.

7/14/07 Delavan Lake - cloudy/rainy.  Winds out of the west at 20 mph.  Air temp 70, water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 19 largemouth - the largest was 4 lbs, 1 northern and a few bluegills.  The best presentation was a split shot rig off of the weedline.  It was so windy, northern fishing was really difficult.  The one northern we caught was on a nightcrawler.

7/13/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, W wind at 5 mph.  Air temp 65 degrees. Water temp 74 degrees.  Trolled for Lake Trout without success for 2 hours.

7/11/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, W wind at 15 mph.  Air temp 75 degrees. Water temp 74 degrees. Caught 9 northerns, 1 smallmouth - 4 1/2 lbs.  Caught all the fish on medium suckers.  Fished 29-39 ft of water.  The only spot we fished was just off the boat launch in Williams Bay.

7/7/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 85 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 24 largemouth  - 5 legal, the largest was digitally weighed at 5.4 lbs. Caught 3 smallmouth - the largest was 4 lbs even and we also caught 2 northerns.  The best depth was right on the weedline in 16-18 ft of water.  Fished near the Oriental boat house and west of Willow Point.

7/6/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 85 degrees, SW winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 8 largemouth - 2 legal, 4 northerns, and 1 walleye.  Didn't really fish that hard, my client was just interested in learning some new spots on the lake.  The bass and walleye were caught on nightcrawlers and the northerns were caught on suckers in about 20-25 ft of water.

7/4/07 Lake Geneva - rainy/misty, 70 degrees, SW winds at 10-15 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught nothing!  Trolled for Lake Trout for 3 hours but didn't get a bite.  That's okay - my 4 year old had a great time anyway!

7/2/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 75 degrees, SE winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 3 largemouth and about 50-60 rock bass, bluegills and perch.  Fishing was tough today, we had a funky wind that rarely hits this area.  Fished Abbey Springs, Williams Bay, and Fontana.  It was hard to get the fish going.  Fished 8-15 ft of water.   There was never a real good depth.

7/1/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 70 degrees, NE winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 20 largemouth - 5 were over 4 lbs., 3 smallmouth, 2 walleyes - 1 legal, and 2 northern pike.  Fishing was awesome again today.  The smallmouth and largemouth were caught on nightcrawlers.   The pike were caught on suckers.  

6/30/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 75 degrees, winds NE at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 9 largemouth and 9 northerns.  Everything today was relatively small.  No legals.  Fished the weedlines with nightcrawlers and lindy rigged suckers for the northerns.  Fished near the gray condos.

6/29/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 65 degrees, winds NE at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 20-25 largemouth, 2 walleyes, 2 smallmouth and 8 northerns.  The bass and walleyes were caught on nightcrawlers.  The northerns were caught on lindy rigged suckers.  Fished in 16-18 ft of water on the weedline.

6/29/07 Lake Geneva - Sunny, 60 degrees, winds were NE at 5 mph. Water temp 74 degrees. Fished the a.m. for lake trout - caught one 12 lb fish, 95 ft down in 115 ft of water.  

6/28/07 Delavan Lake - Sunny, 65 degrees, NE wind at 15 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 20-25 largemouth - 4 were over 5 lbs., 5 smallmouth bass, the largest was 21 inches, 5 northerns- 1 was 33 inches.  Fished the weedline, all the bass were caught on nightcrawlers.  Northern Pike were caught on medium suckers.  The best depth was 18-20 ft, fished one spot for four hours.

6/27/07 Lake Geneva - 80 degrees, SW wind at 10 mph.  Sunny, water temp 74 degrees.  Fished in the a.m. and caught 2 lake trout - 18 and 26 inches.  75 and 85 ft down in 110-115 ft of water.  Fished the p.m. and caught 9 largemouth - 8 legal, 30-40 bluegills.  Fished nightcrawlers.  The best success came off of Arkie Finesse jigs fished with green pumpkin worms.  Fished by Knollwood, Trinkes and Williams Bay.

6/26/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, light winds W at 5 mph, Water Temp at 72 degrees,  Caught 5 Northerns, 1 Walleye, 30-40 Bluegills.  The bite was tough.  Had a couple of first time anglers aboard.  The northerns were caught on lindy rigged suckers and the Walleye and bluegills were caught on nightcrawlers.  

6/25/07 Delavan lake - Sunny, 65 degrees, light winds out of the SW.  Water temp 72 degrees.  Caught 4 northerns, 1 walleye, 7 largemouth bass - 3 legal, and 50-60 bluegills.  Fished the weedline in 15-17 ft of water.  Fished nightcrawlers and suckers on a split shot rig.  The best location was by the Yacht Club or the Oriental Boat house.

6/23/07 Lake Geneva - fished 5-8 a.m - Sunny, winds out of the east at 10 mph.  Air temp 65 and water temp was 70 degrees.  Caught 2 lake trout - 8 and 10 lbs.  Had one other come un-hooked by the side of the boat - it was about 15 lbs.  Wanted to try something different today so we went strictly for lake trout.  The fish were caught in 115 ft of water, fished 89 ft down.  Green and nickel spoons got all the action.

6/22/07 Lake Geneva - fished from 5:30 - 10 a.m. - Sunny, 75 degrees.  Water temp 74 degrees.  Winds were light out of the east.  Caught 10 largemouth and 1 smallmouth.  7 bass total were legal.  Fished by Trinkes, Knollwood and by Colemans Point.  The best success came late in the trip in Williams Bay.  Did nothing but drift nightcrawlers - 13-14 ft was the best depth.

6/21/07  Lake Geneva - fished from 4-8 pm. - Cloudy, air temp 70 degrees.  Water temp 71 degrees.  Can't shake that strong east wind.  Caught 7 largemouth - 3 legal, and 1 4 lb smallmouth.  This trip we mostly used artificial baits.   The smallmouth bass came on a Carolina rigged lizard in 10 ft of water.  Fished Knollwood, Elgin Club, Williams Bay and the Military Academy.  The fish were a little off today.

6/19/07 Lake Geneva - 6-11 a.m. - sunny, strong E winds at 15 mph.  Air temp 70 degrees. Water temp 72 degrees.  Caught 17 largemouth - 11 legal, and 1 legal smallmouth.  2 of the biggest bass were 3 1/2 lbs.  Fished in Trinkes and Williams Bay.  The best depth was 13-14 ft of water.  Fished a split shot rig over the medium depth weeds.  

6/17/07 Delavan Lake- 6-10:30 a.m - sunny, light winds out of the SW, air temp 80 degrees.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 7 northerns, 1 legal, 3 largemouth, all legal.  Was fishing the weedlines with suckers and casting the Arkie U bolt Finesse jig with a green pumpkin Yum Finesse worm.  Our primary goal was to get as many northerns as Frank could catch.  The bite was slow.  The best depth was 22-25 ft.  Fished by the Yacht Club, the Gray condos, the Village Supper Club and by Belvidere Park.  We really fished hard for the fish we caught.  Sucker management was a big concern.  I was having trouble keeping them alive.

6/16/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, light winds, water temp 77 degrees, air temp 80 degrees.  Fished the a.m. for 2 hours.  Caught 1 walleye - undersized, 20 crappies, and 8 bluegills.  We were trying to get off the water early.  Took a friend out and wanted a pleasant, non stressful outing so we quit fishing pretty early.  Breakfast was good though.

6/15/07 Delavan Lake 4-8 pm.- sunny, light winds out of the SE, air temp 90 degrees.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 15 northerns, 1 that was 36 inches.  Caught by Kaylee, 7 years old.  Her biggest fish prior to today was only 1 lb.  Caught 3 walleyes, all were undersize.  Numerous bluegills that were on the weedline.  The Northern were in 20 ft of water just off the weedline, the bluegills were in 15-20 ft adjacent to the weedline and biting on leaf worms.  The best location was the Yacht Club point and the Village Supper Club.  We didn't fish shallow because the objective of the trip was Northern Pike.

6/12/07 Lake Geneva - Sunny, light winds out of the SW, water temp 69, air temp 80 degrees.  Caught 4 legal largemouth - 2 were 3 1/2 lbs.  I legal smallmouth and 11 undersize.  Fished nightcrawlers on a split shot rig by Colemans Point and by Knollwood.  Again caught numerous panfish approx 30-40.  The best depth was 12-14 ft. 

6/10/07 Lake Geneva - 75 degrees and sunny, winds NE at 5 mph.  Water temp 68 degrees.  Caught 4 legal largemouth and 3 that got off.  Caught numerous panfish and Rock Bass.  The best location was by pier 666.  Used mostly nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  Probably caught 80-100 fish.  The best depth was 12-16 ft. 

6/9/07 Lake Geneva - p.m.- 80 degrees and sunny, water temp 67 degrees - again calm winds but lots of boat traffic.  Caught 2 largemouth, both legal - 4 smallmouth - 2 legal.  Fished by Covenant Harbor and Maytag Point.  The best depth was 10-12 ft.  Fished nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  Caught numerous large sunfish and bluegills.  I can't remember a time when the panfish were  so plentiful and big.

6/9/07 Lake Geneva - a.m. - 72 degrees and sunny, water temp 66 degrees. Winds were calm but the lake got choppy with boat traffic.  Caught 2 largemouth, both legal and a couple of undersized smallmouth.  Loads of Rock bass and bluegills.  Fished Colemans Point, Belvidere Park, Knollwood and Williams Bay.  Went through about 10 dozen nightcrawlers.  A lot of action but the panfish actually got in the way of catching the big fish.  Worked a depth of 12-14 ft.

6/8/07 Lake Geneva - 70 degrees and mostly sunny.  Water temp 66 degrees.  Winds were calm.  Severe storms the previous day.  Caught 9 smallmouth, 4 largemouth and a lot of panfish.  Most of the bass were legal.  Fished split shots with nightcrawlers.  Fished only by Colemans Point for 4 hours.  Moved only a few piers and caught hundreds of fish.

6/6/07  Lake Geneva - 65 degrees and sunny, water temp 66 degrees.  Winds out of the S at 15-20 mph.   Caught 2 largemouth and 4 smallmouth.  Fished by the Military Academy and by Colemans Point.  Fished split shot rigs with nightcrawlers in 12-14 ft.  There were also plenty of panfish.

6/5/07 Lake Geneva - p.m. - sunny, 70 degrees. Water temp 66 degrees.  Wind out of the SW at 5 mph.  Caught 2 largemouth - 1 legal, 9 smallmouth - 7 legal.  and many panfish.  The best location was by the Military Academy in 12-14 ft.  The best success was on split shot nightcrawlers.

6/3/07 Lake Geneva - partly sunny, winds calm, air temp 72 degrees. Water temp 68 degrees. Caught 5 smallmouth, 3 largemouth - 6 bass were legal.  Most of the fish were caught by the Military Academy or by Colemans Point.  The fish were caught on a split shot rig and a nightcrawler.  The best depth was 12-14 ft.  We also caught a bunch of panfish - the rock bass are plentiful.

6/2/07 Lake Geneva - partly cloudy, 75 degrees, dead calm - water temp 68 degrees.  Caught 3 smallmouth and 1 largemouth.  The largemouth was 17 inches.  Also caught so many pan fish that my hands won't heal for a long time.  Conservatively we boated over 120 fish.  The best bait was nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The problem with our presentation was that it was so calm, the larger fish were seeing us before they had a chance to react.  The bluegills we caught were in 18 ft of water full of spawn and all were over 10 inches.  Bluegill fishing is going to be awesome this summer.

6/1/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 80 degrees.Light winds out of the SW, water temp 67 degrees.  Caught 20-30 smallmouth and largemouth.  I lost count.  The largest was a 19 inch smallie, caught on a nightcrawler.  One of my clients also caught plenty of bass on a fly rod.  He was using the Closer Minnow, yellow and white on sinking line produced most of his action.  I was a bit skeptical but Victor was a pro with the fly rod.

5/28/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 65 degrees. Light winds out of the SW, Water temp 62 degrees.  Caught only 3 largemouth, the largest was 18 1/4, caught 60 other fish, mostly rock bass, bluegills and perch.  Worked a depth of 12-15 ft.  Williams Bay and Knollwood were the best bets.

5/27/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 65 degrees. Winds out of the west at 15 mph.  Caught 9 largemouth and 1 northern and 15 bluegills.  The best presentation was the green pumpkin All Terrain Stik in 3-4 ft of water.  Worked mostly by Lake Lawn Lodge and by the outlet.  The first hour of sunlight we trolled almost the entire south shore with only one northern.

5/26/07 Lake Geneva - cloudy, rainy, 60 degrees. Winds out of the SE at 10 mph.  Caught 7-9 smallmouth bass, 1 largemouth and a ton of Rock Bass and Bluegills.  Todays trip consisted of trying a bunch of different spots so the client could learn the lake.  The best concentration of fish was by Knollwood - the best depth seemed to be 10-12 ft.  Nightcrawlers and Fatheads worked the same.

5/25/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, 75 degrees. Light winds out of the west.  Water temp 63 degrees.  Caught 20 largemouth bass - 3 legal, 9 Northerns - biggest 28 inches, 2 smallmouth - 1 legal, and 60-70 crappies and a few perch and bluegills.  Fishing was awesome today.  The northern pike were caught on suckers fished on a lindy rig just outside the weedline where the crappies were schooling.  The best depth was 16-20 ft.   The largemouth bass were caught in 2-3 ft of water caught on green pumpkin All Terrain stiks and nightcrawlers.  The best location was by Lake Lawn Lodge.  

5/23/07 Lake Geneva - sunny, 55 degrees. Wind howling out of the south at 15-20 mph.  Caught 2 smallmouth, both legal and a bunch of rock bass, bluegills and perch.  The only place we could fish due to the wind was the Yacht Club to the Military Academy.  Fished 12- 14 ft of water.  

5/20/07 Whitewater Lake - cloudy, 50 degrees. NE wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 60 degrees.  Severe cold front, however I still caught 25 largemouth.  The largest was 6 1/2 lbs.  The best depth was 3-5 ft.  I fished near the bogs.  The best bait was the All Terrain Stiks in green pumpkin.

5/19/07 Delavan Lake - partly sunny, 60 degrees. W winds at 10-15 mph.  Water temp 59 degrees. Caught  5 largemouth, 25-30 crappie and about 15 bluegills.  The wind made it hard to fish the bass in the shallows using Senkos like I prefer this time of year..  The crappies were on the outside edge of the weedline 13 ft down in about 16 ft of water.  The best location was by Browns Channel.  Used small plastics, motor oil was the best color.  The largemouth bass and bluegills were caught on nightcrawlers in 3-5 ft of water.

5/17/07 Lake Geneva - partly sunny, 65 degrees. NE winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 58 degrees.  Caught 4 smallmouth, many rock bass, one 14 inch crappie and lots of bluegill.  Fished by the library, Knollwood and the Military Academy. The largest smallmouth was caught by Knollwood on fathead minnows.

5/13/07 Lake Geneva - cloudy, 60 degrees.  NE wind turning SE at 10-15 mph.  Water temp 48-56 degrees depending on location.  Caught one 4 lb largemouth in Geneva Bay on a nightcrawler, which was the coolest water that we found on the lake.  Caught 2 other small smallmouth.  Fished a bunch of spots and looked for fish.  Didn't have much success on any one thing at all - the smallmouth were caught on a fathead minnow and a nightcrawler.  Worked depths from 10-15 ft.

5/12/07 Whitewater Lake - sunny, 60 degrees, winds NE at 10 mph.  Water temp 60 degrees. Caught 13 bass, 12 legal.  The largest was 18 inches.  All were caught on green pumpkin All Terrain stiks Texas rigged.  The best depth was 3-5 ft.  Tried spinner baits but they didn't produce any fish.

5/11/07 Delavan Lake - sunny, NE wind at 12-15 mph.  Air temp 65, Water temp 55-70 degrees.  Fished  the east end of the lake in 3-5 ft of water.  Used green pumpkin All Terrain Stiks.  Caught 4 legal Largemouth out of 13 total.  The stiks were fished Texas rigged.

5/7/07 Lake Como - Sunny, then partly cloudy, SE winds at 15 mph.  Air temp 70 degrees. Water temp 61 degrees.  Caught 1 of the craftiest bass in the lake!  Fishing was terrible - fished the east end of the lake in 3-5 ft of water.  Threw everything except dynamite.

5/5/07 - Delavan Lake - cloudy, then partly sunny, SE wind at 15-20 mph.  Air temp 65 degrees. Water temp 55 degrees.  Caught 4 largemouth and 5 Northerns.  The northerns were caught on slip bobbers fished with a sucker in 6-8 ft of water.  Fished the west end of the lake.  Had about 8-9 other hits on the suckers but they wouldn't stay hooked up.  The largest bass was 4 1/2 lbs.  They were all caught in 3-4 ft of water fishing All Terrain stiks.
