10/12/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 50 degrees.  Winds out of the west at 5-10 mph.  Caught 8 walleyes (1 legal).  All the fish were caught on lindy rigs or jigs tipped with minnows.

10/11/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees.  Winds out of the south at 5 mph.  Caught 9 walleyes (2 legal), 3 smallmouth.  All the fish were caught on a 1/16 oz jig fished with fat head minnows.  The best depth was 15 ft. of water.  Due to excessive fishing pressure, I fished a lot of different spots throughout the day.

10/5/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 40 degrees.  Winds out of the east at 5 mph.  Caught 15 walleyes, 7 legal, 2 largemouth and 1 smallmouth.  The fish were caught by the Yacht Club in 18 ft. of water.  Fat head minnows fished on a lindy rig or a jig produced most of the action.

10/4/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 40 degrees.  Winds out of the West at 10 mph.  Caught 13 walleyes (4 legal).  All the walleyes were caught on fat head minnows fished on a 1/16 oz jig.  The best color jig was chartreuse.  The best depth was 16-18 ft.  Fished by the Oriental Boathouse and by Browns channel.

9/28/03 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy, few rainshowers, 55 degrees.  Winds W at 15 mph.  Caugght 18 walleyes, 12 legal. The fish were caught on nightcralwers and fat head minnows.  The walleyes were caught on lead head jigs on the weed edge. Fished mostly the points on the south shore.

9/27/03 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy 50 degrees.  Winds out of the west at 15-20 mph.  Caught 15 walleyes, 8 legal.  The biggest was 22 inches.  All the fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a lindy rig.  The best depth was 18-20 ft. of water.  Drifted and trolled most of the south shore.

9/19/03 P.M., Delavan Lake, sunny 68 degrees.  Winds out of the west at 15 mph.  Water temp was 69 degrees.  Caught 13 walleyes, 5 legal.  The fish were caught in 16 ft. of water.  Nightcrawlers were the best bait.  Fished near Browns Channel.

9/19/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 65 degrees.  Winds out of the west at 10-15 mph.  Water temp 69 degrees.  Caught 15 walleyes, 2 legal.  Used nightcrawlers fished on a lindy rig.  The best location was on the south shore near Del Mar.  The best bite was right at dawn.

9/18/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 70 degrees.  Winds out of the SE at 10 mph.  Water temp 70 degrees.  Caught 10 walleyes, 2 legal, 2 smallmouth and some pan fish.  The walleyes were caught in 16 ft. of water.  The best bait was nightcrawlers.  The fish were taken by Assembly Park. 

9/14/03 Delavan Lake, cloudy and rainy, 72 degrees.  Winds light out of the west.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 10 walleyes, 7 legal.  All fish were caught on nightcrawlers lindy rigged in 20 ft. of water.  The first hour of light produced all the fish.

9/13/03 Delavan Lake, rainy 75 degrees.  Winds out of the west at 15 mph.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 12 walleyes, 3 legal, 3 largemouth, 1 smallmouth and a few bluegills.  The fish were caught split shotting nightcrawlers in 16-22 ft. of water.  Fished numerous spots on the south shore.

9/10/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 75 degrees.  Winds SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 1 northern, 3 largemouth, 3 walleyes and a bunch of bluegills.  The one northern was caught in 16 ft of water lindy rigging suckers.  The walleyes and bass were caught split shotting nightcrawlers in 16 ft. of water.

9/7/03 Lake Geneva, sunny 65 degrees building to 88 degrees.  SW wind at 10-15 mph going to calm.  Water temp 72 degrees.  Got smoked in the tournament.  Caught 3 legal largemouth weighing 6 pounds 6 oz.  All were caught deep Carolina rigging Zoom lizards.  The best depth seemed to be 18-20 ft. of water.  Had a few short fish on chrome & blue chug bugs early in the a.m.  Long day on the water with little success.  (guiding is easier)

9/6/03 Lake Geneva, sunny 65 degrees heading up to 80.  Winds SW at 15 mph.  Water temp 72 degrees.  Pre-fished for a Sunday tournament.  Caught 1 largemouth on a chug bug in 6-8 ft of water.  I had several other bites Carolina rigging in deeper water and never set the hook.  I tried northern fishing for about 15 minutes and didn't have any lookers.

9/5/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 75 degrees, W wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 1 northern - 32 inches, 3 walleyes, 12 crappies and 8 bluegills.  The northern was caught on a lindy rigged sucker in 18 ft. of water.  Had two other bites, however didn't bring them in. The crappies were caught off the weed line in 12-15 ft. of water.  A purple cubby jig produced all the fish.  The walleyes were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  My guide party wanted to quite at 7:30 just as the fish started to bite.

9/3/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 74 degrees, wind NE at 5 mph.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 10 walleyes, (2 legals).  The fish were in 16-18 ft of water off the weedline.  The walleyes were caught on lindy-rigged nightcrawlers.  The bite didn't start until 7:30 pm and shutdown about 1/2 hour after dark.  Fished several areas on the south shore.

8/26/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 95 degrees.  No wind.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 10 northerns, (2 legals), 3 walleyes (1 legal) and 5 largemouth bass.  Northerns were caught on lindy rigged suckers by the gray condos.  Walleyes and Bass were caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers in 18-20 ft. of water.  The best location was by Assembly Park and the Yacht club.

8/23/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 75 degrees. N wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 79 degrees.  Caught 7 walleyes, 2 northerns, 2 largemouth.  Fish were caught on lindy rigged leeches.  The best depth was 20-22 ft. of water.  Fished mostly near Assembly Park.

8/22/03 Delavan Lake, afternoon, sunny 85 degrees, N wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 79 degrees.  Caught 2 walleyes, 5 northerns, 2 largemouth and some panfish.  Northerns and walleyes were caught on lindy rigged suckers.  The best location was by the Yacht Club.

8/22/03 Delavan Lake, morning, sunny 75 degrees, light N wind.  Water temp 79 degrees.  Caught 10 walleyes (2 legal), 11 largemouth (2 legal), 3 northerns and many panfish.  Fish were caught on a split shot rig  and nightcrawlers.  The best depth was in 17-20 ft of water.  The best location was by the Yacht club, Assembly Park and the south shore.

8/21/03 Delavan Lake, sunny and humid, 93 degrees.  N wind at 13 mph.  Water temp 79 degrees.  Caught 5 walleyes (1 legal), 6 largemouth (1 legal), 1 smallmouth, 1 northern and panfish.  Fish were caught on a split shot rig fished in 16-20 ft of water.  Used nightcrawlers and leeches.  Fished by Assembly Park and most of the south shore.

8/19/03 Lake Geneva, sunny, 88 degrees and humid.  S wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 5 northerns, missed 3, 3 smallmouth and a few panfish.  All the northerns were caught in Williams Bay on the east shore.  The fish were in 29-36 ft of water.  Tried 3-4 spots in Fontana, but all we caught were smallies.  Fish were caught on small lindy rigged suckers.

8/18/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees and humid, SE wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 79 degrees.  Caught 11 northerns, 2 walleye, 1 largemouth and a few panfish.  All the northerns were small.  The fish were caught on lindy rigged suckers.  The best depth was 20-24 ft of water.  The walleyes were caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers by Assembly Park.  I worked water depths from 17-20 ft.

8/17/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 85 degrees, SE wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 11 northerns (1 legal), and 2 walleyes.  Northerns were caught on lindy rigged suckers in 18-24 ft. of water.  The best location was by the Yacht Club and Assembly Park.  Walleyes were caught on crank baits, Wally Divers produced most of the fish in 15-18 ft of water.

8/16/03 Lake Geneva, sunny and 88 degrees, water temp 77 degrees.  SW wind at 10 mph.  Caught 6 northerns (1 legal), 2 largemouth (1 legal) and panfish. The largemouth bass and panfish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig by Knollwood subdivision.  The best depth was 8-12 ft of water.  Northerns were caught in 33-38 ft of water.  No fish were caught in the narrows or Williams Bay.  All the action was in Fontana by Uhlines Creek.  Lindy rigged suckers caught all the fish.

8/14/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 86 degrees, N wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 7 northerns, 2 largemouth, 1 walleye (20 inches).  Northerns were caught on lindy rigged suckers in 20-24 ft. of water.  Fish were caught by the Yacht Club.  Bass and Walleye were caught on leeches on a split shot rig.  The best depth was 15-18 ft.  The fish were caught by Browns Channel.

8/13/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 85 degrees, N wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 6 northerns, 4 more got off by the boat, and 15 bluegills.  Northerns were by the Yacht Club in 18-25 ft. of water.  All fish were caught on lindy rigged suckers.  Bluegills were caught on nightcrawlers on the south shore by the Oriental boat house.

8/10/03 Lake Geneva, sunny, 75 degrees, winds were light out of the north.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 5 largemouth, 2 northerns and a bunch of pan fish.  The bass were caught by Knollwood.  Used nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The best depth was 11-13 ft of water.  Several legal fish were caught, the biggest was around 3 pounds.  The northern pike were caught in 38 ft of water in the narrows on the north shore.

8/9/03 Lake Geneva, sunny, 70 degrees, no wind.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 5 largemouth, 5 smallmouth, 5 northerns.  The bass were caught by Knollwood on a nightcrawler and a split shot rig .  The northern pike were caught on the north side of the narrows.  The best depth was 33-35 ft.  Used small sucker fished on a lindy rig.

8/6/03 Delavan Lake, morning, partly cloudy, 75 degrees, winds calm, Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 4 walleyes (1 legal - 22 inches), 1 largemouth.  Fish were caught in 20-22 ft. of water.  I fished for 1 hour by the gray condo's.  The fish preferred leeches, fished on a 1/8 oz lindy rig.  

8/6/03 Lake Geneva, evening, partly cloudy, 84 degrees winds calm.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 8 northerns, 2 largemouth and pan fish.  Northerns were caught in 35-38 ft. of water.  Fished lindy rigged suckers.  Williams Bay and the Narrows were the best spots.

8/5/03 Lake Geneva, evening, sunny 84 degrees, east wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 4 northerns, bluegills, crappies and a few largemouth bass.  Northerns were caught on a lindy rigged sucker in 35 ft. of water.  Fished in Williams Bay for the northern..  The biggest northern was about 31 inches.  Bass and pan fish were caught in 10-12 ft of water near Knollwood. 

8/5/03 Delavan Lake, mid-day, sunny 85 degrees.  Light winds out of the east.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 7 largemouth, 1 northern and a bunch of bluegills.  Fish were caught in the 12-15 ft. weed line.  Used nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  Northern was caught on a lindy rigged sucker.  The best location was by the Yacht Club.

8/5/03 Delavan Lake, morning, sunny 81 degrees, light winds out of the east.  Water temp 78 degrees.  10 walleyes ( 1 legal), 2 northerns (1 legal), 2 largemouth.  Walleyes were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The fish were in 20-22 ft. of water.  Fished near Browns Channel and the Yacht Club.

8/3/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 75 degrees, Winds light out of the east.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 10 walleyes, 1 legal.  1 northern, 1 smallmouth bass and several bluegills.  Walleyes were caught drifting nightcrawlers.  The best depth was 18 ft of water.  The best location was by the Yacht Club.  

8/2/03 Lake Geneva, sunny 75 degrees, SW wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 7 northerns, 1 largemouth, 2 smallmouth and several pan fish.  Fished the first few hours in the a.m for bass.  The best depth seemed to be about 10 ft of water by Knollwood.  Caught the fish drifting nightcrawlers.  Northerns were caught on lindy rigged suckers.  We fished one spot in Williams Bay.  The best depth was 35 ft. 

8/1/03 Lake Geneva, sunny 80 degrees, west wind at 5-10 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 4 northerns, missed 3 others.  Fished many spots throughout the lake.  The fish really shut down.  All fish were caught on lindy rigged suckers.

7/31/03 Lake Geneva, sunny with thunderstorms, 75 degrees.  South wind at 10-12 mph.  Water temp 76 degrees.  Caught 10 northerns, missed 4 others.  The biggest fish was 31 inches.  Used lindy rigged suckers in 32-35 feet of water.  Best location was in Williams Bay.  Fishing was better when the sun was out.

7/30/03 Delavan Lake, cloudy, 75 degrees SW wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 78 degrees.  Caught 7 northerns, 3 walleyes, 3 largemouth bass and 20 bluegills.  Northerns were caught on lindy rigged suckers in 20 ft of water.  Walleyes were caught on nightcrawlers fishing the south shore break line.

7/27/03 Delavan Lake, mostly cloudy, 75 degrees, light winds out of the north.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 12 walleyes, 5 northerns, 4 largemouth bass and 1 smallmouth bass.  All fish were caught lindy rigging suckers in 20-22 ft. of water.  the best location was near the Yacht club.  The four bass combined weight was over 16 pounds.  

7/26/03 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy, 70 degrees, SW wind at 15-20.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 2 northerns, 1 legal and 1 walleye.  Fishing was very slow, fished for 4 hours and caught only the 3 fish.  Lindy rigging suckers in 18-22 ft of water. 

7/24/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 79 degrees, wind SW at 5 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 7 northerns (1legal), 2 largemouth (1 legal).  Northerns were caught on lindy rigged suckers near the Yacht club and by Assembly Park.  The best depth was 18-24 ft. of water.

7/23/03 Lake Geneva, P.M., sunny 75 degrees, NE wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 8 largemouth (2 legal), 4 smallmouth (1 legal) and bunches of panfis.  Went through 10 dozen nightcrawlers.  Best depth was in 8-12 ft. of water.  Fished by Colemans Point, Military Academy and Linn Pier.

7/23/03 Delavan Lake, A.M., sunny 65 degrees, NE wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.   Caught 10 walleyes (2 legal) and 3 northerns.  Fish were caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers in 18 ft of water.  Best location was near Assembly Park.

7/20/03 Delavan Lake, P.M., Partly cloudy, 85 degrees, winds out of the SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 5 northerns, no legals and missed 5-6 others.  Fished lindy rigged suckers in 17-2 ft of water.  Fishing was tough, couldn't really find a pattern today.  

7/20/03 Delavan Lake, A.M, Partly cloudy, 75 degrees, winds out of the west at 10-15 mph.  Water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 14 walleyes, 1 legal and 4 northerns.  Walleyes were caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers fished by the grey condos.  The best depth was 18 ft.   Fished the pike with large suckers on a lindy rig.  Fished near the Yacht Club.  The best depth for pike was 24 ft.

7/19/03 Lake Geneva, sunny, 85 degrees, no wind.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 2 smallmouth, 2 legal - 3 largemouth, 2 legal - and a few panfish.  Fishing was tough, the lack of wind and cold front the day prior didn't help.  Fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on the split shot rig.  I fished Knollwood Linn Pier and Williams Bay.

7/18/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 65 degrees, E wind at 10 mph, water temp 75 degrees.  Caught 4 walleyes (3 legals), 1 northern, Fished one hour.  All fish were caught on leeches on lindy rigs.  The fish were in 17 ft of water off Lake Lawn Lodge.

7/16/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 85 degrees.  SW wind at 10 mph,  water temp 78 degrees.  8 northerns (1 legal)  Fish were caught off the weedline in 17-19 ft of water.  Fished lindy rigged suckers on 17  pound test.  Best spot was the grey condos.

7/12/03 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy, 70 degrees, north winds at 5 mph.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 23 walleyes, (4 legal) and 1 largemouth bass (18 inches).  The fish were caught on leeches and nightcrawlers fished on the lindy rig.  The best depth was 20 ft. of water.  Fished by Browns Channel and by the Oriental boathouse. 

7/11/03 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy, 70 degrees, north winds at 10-15 mph.  Water temp 73 degrees.  Caught 25 walleyes, (5 legal) and 2 largemouth bass.  All fish were caught on leeches and nightcrawlers fished on the lindy rig.  Best depth was 17 ft. of water and best location was drifting the south shore. 

7/10/03 Delavan Lake, rainy, 75 degrees, winds west at 10 mph.  Water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 9 walleyes (3 legal), 1 northern.  The best depth was 17 ft. of water.  Fished nightcrawlers on lindy rigs.  Had to use small sinkers due to the weeds.  Fished by Assembly Park.

7/6/03 Lake Geneva, Thunderstorms then sunny, 86 degrees, winds calm to SW 5-10 mph.  Water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 3 largemouth (2 legal) and many rock bass, bluegills and perch.  Thunderstorms chased us off the lake and fishing was a bit slow.  Small purple worms worked the best.  The best depth was in 10-12 ft. of water.  Fished by Cedar Point to Knollwood.

7/5/03 Delavan Lake, late morning, sunny and 85 degrees, winds calm.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Fished for about 1/2 hour and caught 1 largemouth about 4 1/2 pounds.  The fish was caught using a fat free shad on the weed line by Assembly Park.  The fish was caught in 15 ft. of water. 

7/4/03 Lake Geneva, morning, thunderstorms and sunshine - temp 85 degrees, winds all directions and strong at times, water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 8 largemouth, (7 were legal), 4 smallmouth (3 legal) and many rock bass and bluegills.  All the bass were caught by Knollwood.  Fished the split shot fished with a nightcrawler.  Best depth was anywhere between 8 and 12 ft.  

7/2/03 Delavan Lake, afternoon, sunny 90 degrees, winds W at 5 mph.  Water temp 80 degrees.  Caught 8 walleye (1 legal), 1 northern, 1 largemouth and several pan fish.  The walleyes were caught in 18-20 ft of water.  Both nightcrawlers and leeches worked well.  Best action was in late evening about 7:30 - 8:30 pm.  Fished the south shore, used lindy rigs with 3/8 oz sinkers.

6/30/03 Delavan Lake, afternoon, sunny 88 degrees, no wind, water temp 77 degrees.  Caught 1 smallmouth, 2 walleyes and 50-60 crappies all small.  The floating winds and no wind made fishing very tough.  Walleye and Bass were caught on nightcrawlers,  tried leeches but they weren't working.  The best depth was in 18-20 ft. of water.  Fished all over the lake.  Crappies were caught on small plastics. (purple and yellow best color)

6/29/03 Lake Geneva, afternoon, sunny 88 degrees, wind SW at 10 mph.  Water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 2 smallmouth (both legal), 1 largemouth also legal, and lots of perch, bluegills and rock bass.  All fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The best depth was 12-13 ft. of water.  Fished by Rainbow Point, Linn Pier and Coleman's Point.

6/29/03 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy with rain, 75 degrees, W wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 72 degrees.  Caught 5 walleye - 1 legal.  Fish were caught in 15-20 ft. of water.  Leeches and nightcrawlers on lindy rigs caught the fish.  The best spot was near the Village Supper club.

6/28/03 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy with rain, 70 degrees, E wind at 10 mph.  Water temp 72 degrees. Caught 1 northern and 14 walleyes (2 legal).  Fish were caught on leeches in 20 ft. of water.  Most of the fish were caught near Assembly Park and by the Yacht Club.  Lindy rigs or light jigs worked the best.

6/26/03 Lake Geneva, sunny 75 degrees, west winds at 15-20 mph.  Water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 7 largemouth, 6 of them legal, 2 smallmouth, a bunch of rock bass and bluegills.  All fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on split shot rigs.  Fished at Coleman's Point and Williams bay.  The best depth was 10-13 ft.  The cold front and high winds limited fishing a bit.

6/25/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 78 degrees, south wind at 5 mph.  Water temp was 74.  Caught 6 walleye - no legals.  All the fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a lindy rig.  The best depth was 16-18 ft. of water.  I caught most of the fish near the gray condos.  I tried Assembly Park and near the Village without any luck.

6/23/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 70 degrees, NE wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 71 degrees.  Caught 1 legal walleye, 1 smallmouth (16").  All the fish were caught on leeches in 16-18 ft. of water.  I fished by the Grey condos by the Yacht Club.

6/22/03 Lake Geneva, sunny 80 degrees, winds south at 8 mph.  Water temp 65 degrees.  Caught 5 largemouth, 3 smallmouth and a bunch of panfish.  All the fish were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.  The best spots were in Fontana Beach, Geneva Bay and Trinkes.  The best water depth was in 10-12 ft. of water.

6/21/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 75 degrees, winds north at 5 mph.  Water temp 69 degrees.  Caught 5 walleyes, 2 legal.  Fished near the Yacht Club.  All fish were caught on crankbaits fishing them down the weed line.  The best bait was the fat free shad from Excalibur (fire tiger pattern).

6/19/03 P.M. - Delavan Lake - sunny 65 degrees north wind at 15 mph.  Water temp 69 degrees.  Caught 6 walleyes, 1 smallmouth and 10-12 panfish.  The walleyes were caught in 18 ft. of water on both leeches and nightcrawlers fished on a lindy rigs.  The best location was east of the Oriental boat house.  Fished a lot of different spots and all had some pre-spawn bluegills.

6/19/03 A.M. - Delavan Lake - sunny, 63 degrees, north wind at 5 mph.  Water temp 68 degrees.  Caught 11 walleyes (1 legal) 1 18" smallmouth and 1 northern.  Fish were caught in 18 ft. of water on lindy rigs, fished with leeches and nightcrawlers.  The fish were caught by the gray condo's.

6/17/03 P.M. - Delavan Lake - sunny, 83 degrees, no wind - water temp 75 degrees.  Fishing was tough, high skies, no wind and loads of weeds. Caught 2 smallmouth, both around 17 inches, 1 walleye and a few crappies and bluegills.  I didn't figure out a pattern.  The walleye was caught on a lindy rig with a nightcrawler.  The smallmouth were caught on nightcrawlers.  Some of the crappies were taken on small yellow plastics.  The best depth was 18 ft. of water.

6/17/03 A.M. - Delavan Lake - sunny, 65 degrees, winds light from the north.  Water temp 67 degrees.  Caught 14 walleyes, 2 legal, 1 smallmouth, 17 inches.  All fish were caught fishing the weedline just east of Willow Point.  The best depth was 15 ft.

6/15/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 70 degrees, winds NE at 5 mph.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 10 walleyes, 3 legal, 1 largemouth.  Caught the fish casting crankbaits down the weedlines.  The best depth was 12-15 ft. of water.  The best lure was a suspending Wally Diver. 

6/14/03 Lake Geneva, sunny 75 degrees, light E winds.  Water temp 63 degrees.  Caught 6 smallmouth - 3 legals, 2 largemouth - 1 legal and 40 panfish.  Fished nightcrawlers on the split shot rig.  The smallies were in 8-10 ft. of water west of Linn Pier.  The largemouth were caught by Knollwood.  The panfish were absolutely everywhere.

6/13/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 75 degrees, light E winds, Water temp 65 degrees.  Caught 3 walleyes (1 legal), 2 smallmouth, both 17 1/2 inches, 20 bluegill and 30 crappies.  Walleyes and bass were caught on lindy rigs fished with leeches.  The best depth was 16 ft.  Bluegills bit on leaf worms fished in 20 ft. of water.  The crappies were caught on small plastics, yellow was the best color.  The fish were positioned on the breakline in 12-18 ft of water.  Fished the south shore near the Village Supper club.

6/12/03 Delavan Lake, cloudy 65 degrees, winds E at 10 mph.  Water temp 65.  Caught 11 walleyes, 1 legal, 1 smallmouth.  Fished first light for a couple of hours. All the fish were caught on nightcrawlers on lindy-rigs in 18-20 ft. of water.  Fished the Yacht Club weedline.

6/11/03 Delavan Lake, cloudy, 65 degrees winds NE at 10 mph.  Water temp 65 degrees.  Caught 9 walleyes, no legals, 2 largemouth and a couple of crappies.  Fished a couple hours in the morning, all the fish were caught on nightcrawlers on lindy-rigs in 20 ft. of water.  Fished by the Yacht Club weedline.

6/8/03 Delavan Lake, partly cloudy and some rain, 65 degrees, winds SW at 5-10 mph.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 4-5 large mouth bass, 1 walleye, 1 smallmouth and a bunch of perch, bluegills and crappies.  All the fish were caught in about 5-6 ft. of water in shallow weeds, except for the smallmouth which came out of 15 ft on the weed break.  All the fish were caught on worms or nightcrawlers on the split shot and a small hook.

6/7/03 Delavan Lake, cloudy and foggy, 65 degrees, winds were out of the east at 5 mph.  Water temp 65 degrees.  Caught 4 walleyes, 2 legal - the longest was 19.5 inches.  Fished exclusively crank baits along the weed lines.  The best luck was on a green perch pattern Wally Diver. All the fish were caught before 6 am.

6/5/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 70 degrees, light winds out of the SW, Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 4 walleyes, no legals, caught about a dozen bluegills and a few crappies.  Fished lindy rigs in 15-25 ft. of water.  Fished the South shore from Browns Channel to Delmar.  Fishing was a bit slow, most of the fish were caught about 1/2 hour before dark.

6/1/03 Lake Geneva, sunny and cool, 50 degrees, winds fairly calm.  Water temp 60 degrees.  Caught 4 smallmouth bass and approx. 30 rock bass.  The fish were caught on a split shot rig fishing nightcrawlers.  The best spots were Elgin Club and Rainbow Point.  All fish were caught between 9 and 12 ft of water.

5/31/03 Delavan Lake, cloudy and rainy, 54 degrees, winds out of the north at 20-25 mph.  Water temp 59.  Caught 4 smallmouth bass and a few bluegills.  Fishing conditions were absolutely terrible.  The cold front and high winds hindered fishing.  The smallmouth bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished with a lindy rig in 20 ft. of water.  

5/29/03 Delavan Lake, sunny 68 degrees, winds calm.  Water temp 64 degrees.  Caught 3 smallmouth, 1 northern and 25 crappies.  The smallmouth were 20", 19" and 16", the norther was 24 inches.  The bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a lindy rig.  The best depth was 18-23 ft.  The fish were off the break.  The crappies were caught on twister tails and cubby jigs.  The best color was yellow and white, fished on a 1/32 oz jig.  The best depth was 12-15 ft.

5/26/03 Delavan Lake,  sunny, 65 degrees, winds out of the N at 5 mph.  Water temp 58 degrees.  Caught over 100 crappies.  Only about 1/3 of them could have been keepers.  There were lots of small fish.  The fish were between 12 and 18 ft. of water, suspended.  Caught fish a slip bobber with a small minnow and the most productive way was a 1/32 oz jig with a small yellow or chartreuse twister tail.  Most fish were caught near the Village Supper Club.

5/25/03 Lake Geneva, sunny, 65 degrees, winds out of the NE at 10 mph.  Water temp 56 degrees.  Caught 1 largemouth and 1 smallmouth and over 100 rock bass.  The best depth was 10-13 ft. of water. All the fish were caught on a split shot rig fished with a nightcrawler.  We caught fish in every spot we tried.  The best was probably Coleman's Point.

5/24/03 Lake Geneva, sunny, 65 degrees, winds out of the NW at 10 mph.  Water temp 56 degrees.  Caught 2 smallmouth bass and approx. 60 rock bass.  Fished by the Elgin Club in 10-12 ft. of water.  Caught the fish on split shot rig fished with a nightcrawler and a small white jig.  Both worked equally as well.  Caught a few fish at Coleman's Point and the Military Academy.

5/18/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 65 degrees, winds out of the NE at 10 mph.  Water temp 57 degrees.  Caught numerous small largemouth bass and about 60 bluegills and pumpkin seeds.  All the fish were caught on leaf worms fished on a bobber in 3-4 ft. of water.  The clear sand bottom seemed to hold most of the fish.  

5/17/03 Afternoon - Lake Geneva, sunny, 65 degrees, winds out the east at 15 mph.  Water temp 49-53 degrees.  This was the second worst guide party I've ever had.  We caught one small largemouth and 5 perch.  Fished nearly the entire lake going shallow to deep looking for action but without much luck.  

5/17/03 Morning - Delavan Lake, cloudy and foggy, 60 degrees, winds out of the NE at 15mph.  Water temp 54 degrees.  Caught 2 smallmouth, 2 largemouth and about 40 bluegills.  Kept 15 of the bluegills.  This day was similar to Friday.  Nightcrawlers for the bass and leaf worms for the bluegills.  

5/16/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 60 degrees, winds 15mph out of the NE.  Water temp 55 degrees.  Caught 2 smallmouth, 4 largemouth and about 30 bluegills.  Kept 19 of them.  The bluegills were caught in 3-4 ft of water using a small bobber with leaf worms.  The largemouth bass were caught on nightcrawlers fished on the split shot rig.  Tried fishing for crappies on the main lake without success.

5/13/03 Delavan Lake, sunny, 75 degrees, winds light out of the east.  Water temp 56 degrees.  Caught 20 largemouth bass, the largest was 21 inches and approximately 5 pounds.  Fished 3-4 ft. of water around clear bottoms.  Fished a live nightcrawler on a split shot rig.  Caught all of my fish in the evening in about 1 hour.  The best shore line was near Willow Point.

5/10/03 Lake Geneva, sunny and 55 degrees, calm winds.  Water temp 51 degrees.  Caught 3 smallmouth and 2 rock bass.  Caught all of the fish at the Elgin Club.  Best depth was 14 ft. of water.  Used a 1/16 oz jig with a smoke grub.  A slow and steady retrieve produced all the fish.  Tried Black point, the Military Academy and Rainbow point without much luck.

5/8/03 Delavan Lake, Fished the afternoon, cloudy 55 degrees SE winds at 15 mph.  Water temp 53 degrees.  Caught one smallmouth bass on a nightcrawler.  Lost 2-3 other big fish.  Warmer weather is a must if fishing is to improve.  Tried for crappies again at Browns Channel but still no luck.

5/6/03 Delavan Lake, fished the afternoon, sunny 70 degrees SE winds at 10 mph.  Water temp 53 degrees.  Fishing was very slow.  Tried crankbaits for walleyes.  Started at the Village Supper club and fished to Browns Channel.  Tried crappies for about 15 minutes without any luck.

5/4/03 Lake Geneva -sunny, 40 degrees, water temp 46 degrees, winds SE at 10-15 mph.  Caught 8 small mouth, 4 crappies.  Fish were caught at the Elgin Club and the military academy.  The best depth was 14-16 ft. of water.  The best method was the split shot rig with fat head minnows.  The fish were pre-spawn, suspended over open water.

5/3/03 Lake Como - sunny, 40 degrees, water temp 54 degrees, winds SE 5-10 mph.  Caught 2 large mouth and 2 northerns.  The bass were caught on plastic worms red shad and grape on a split shot rig.  Northerns hit on a white spinner bait.  Fished the west end of the lake in 4 ft. of water in emerging bullrushes.

4/26/03 Delavan Lake - sunny 39 degrees, water temp 47-50 degrees.  Winds E at 12 mph.  Caught 10 bluegills.  Fishing was very slow. We tried for crappies for over an hour and a half on the main lake but had no luck.  Fished by Township Park, the main lake was extremely cold.  Bluegills were caught in the Lake Lawn Harbor. Again, fish were very small.

4/13/03 Delavan Lake - sunny 55 degrees, water temp 50 degrees, winds SE at 10 mph.  Caught 15 bluegills in Lake Lawn Harbor.  Most of the fish in the harbor were small.  We only kept a few.  All of the fish were caught on leaf worms in 3-4 feet of water around the boat slips.

4/12/03 Delavan Lake - sunny 45 degrees, water temp 51 degrees, winds light from the north.  Caught 60 bluegills, kept 18 good ones.  All fish were caught in 3-5 feet of water.  The outlet and Lake Lawn Harbor were the only two areas that fish were caught.  Leaf worms and wax worms were the bait of choice.
